Best User-Made Mod

Post » Sun Jul 11, 2010 1:29 pm

What do you think is the best user-made mod that can be found on nexus?

In my personal situation, I'm looking for something really interesting or something that will extend my gameplay hours.

FWE definitely made FO3 more enjoyable, so that's my vote.

That's an awfully broad question. Could you narrow it down a little and telll us what interests you?

Well, without knowing any more than what you have already posted, which is still pretty generalized, check out http://www.gamesas.com/bgsforums/index.php?showtopic=1056342

Also look on http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/top/alltime.php for ideas.

Just like art there is no best only different.

At the moment two of the hottest mods which may do what your looking for are FWE 5.0 and ARWEN'S REALISM TWEAKS. Read up on these epic works of modding and see which one suits your play style.

AREN'T YOU FUNNY, EH?!

Anyway, I recommend some quest mods like Cube experimental, and Puce Moose's trilogy. They kept me involved for hours.

Well my battery charger mod can add hours of game time if you try and convert ever fission battery XD (Joke about there not being any "convert all" option)

That's entirely subjective and a pointless question to ask really. What one person thinks is great, another might think is utter garbage. It all depends on what you want out of your game.

A mod which is interesting and adds gameplay? Why would anybody make one of those? http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=1863 is the peak of our art, we need nothing more.

What do you mean by "our"? I hope you mean humanity as a whole!

Well, my quest mod "A Trail of Crumbs" does not actually add anything new to the game (other than the marked quest, perk & bunker for completing the quest) but it will guide you to 10 locations that many people rarely if ever go to in the FO3 world. It finishes in the last 4 or so stages with some of the most epic combat in the game. It's really quite tough in spots. If you go through it slowly, explore the areas thoroughly and do some looting while you're there, it can easily add 4 or more hours worth of play time to a newish game.

Also try "The Cube Experimental" (One of the BEST IMO)

Not to be blowing my own trumpet too hard here, but the best user-made mod as rated by Fallout3 Nexus users in the last two weeks (for the last month) has been Fellout.

It doesn't extend anyone's gameplay, nor add anything. It's not even terribly original, but with all those limitations, it's well ahead of even FOMM.

For gameplay, I would strongly recommend Arefu Expanded and Amy Wong. I find the two mods extremely compatible and useful. Shady Sands is also a brilliantly well-made mod.
