Best visually improving mods?

Post » Wed Feb 16, 2011 7:54 am

It's been some time since I last played fallout 3 since my computer kind of died lol. But now that it's working again I would like to start over playing fallout 3. But the thing is eventhough I think fallout 3 looks nice I was wondering if there are some mods which visually improve fo3? I started a search on fo3nexus but it took me a long time to find them and don't know if they are any good? So I was wondering what are the best mods to visually improve fo3?

http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=8340 (energy weapons and explosions), http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=2672 (lighting in general), http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=10607 (not exactly looks, but weather changes the feel of the wasteland quite drastically), http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=7670 and last but not least, http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=12056. For people http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=6341 with (or without) body replacers of your choice (for me Breeze's for males, and Type 3 for females).

Thanks! Yeah I remember the weather mod I used it a lot, and I'm definitely going to use the texture mod since my new vid card is working again! :)

I prefer this over Fellout.

I don't recall whether any of those mods touch interiors...

Naturally, you might need http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=2725 and/or a http://fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=10740 to go with that. ("grey" and 3x or 4x works extremely well)

There's also some texture replacers that can be used:

http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=1789

I think Fellout touches interiors too, but I just load RIL after it. Looks great.

I don't recommend the Motion Blut part (caused fps problems here even when the motion blur was barely noticable), however the Depth of Field mods (i suggest to use "Medium Very Far DOF") remove the jaggedness of distant objects a bit and make the atmosphere look kind of hazy, looks really good.

Such a little thing, but those things are everywhere so it makes quite a difference.

There's also http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=12132. It's no longer being continued but it has some pretty cool retextures, like the clock.

Personal taste I know, but the default holes are actually more realistic.
