Best Voice ActorMost Disappointing

Joshua Graham and Col. Moore were 2 of the best characters. Very memorable.

General Oliver really falls short though imo. When I hear him talk, all I can see is someone reading off a script in a studio.

Doctor 0, because I love me some Venture Bros! I really liked listening to Tabitha and "Rhonda" on Black Mountain radio.. Many laughs had on that, actually, all the Nightkin were pretty damn funny. I also think Matthew Perry didn't do as good as he could have.

Felicia Day is great, and rightfully deserves all the work she can get. Emotive, expressive, a great voice actress.

Katherine Pawlak is just awful. I know the few women in the industry need to be supported by the few of us who play these games, but Sunny Smiles and Doctor Straus? Just painful, awful work.

If it wasn't for the little bits and pieces of web-based work she's done before, I would swear she was some developer's girlfriend that got shoe-horned in.

I didn't remember Doctor Straus, but you're right, she has some awesome lines that she just blows.

I got kind of annoyed how so many characters were voiced by Gregory Alan Williams, and how they all sounded pretty much exactly the same with no attempt at variation  The acting wasn't bad, just a lot of people with the same, otherwise 'distinct' voice.

Overall though, I can't recall anyone standing out as having bad voice acting. I especially loved all the voice acting in Dead Money
my vote for best, funniest, and most perfect, and ironically, most annoying, was the dude who did Muggy. everytime i 1st hear him i laugh so hard my sides ache.
but by the end of OWB i want to blow his brains out (if he had any.) which, i suppose, is what makes him so perfect in the role.
i have never encountered a machine (or person) with that much inner angst, vocal personality, and determination to let others know what drives him.
all others are drab in comparison...though somewhat easier to deal with.
still, despite his faults, probably the most creative and unique character in the fallout universe. runner-up is that lunatic old fart in Novac. even his house is an extension of his lunacy.
when i get old(er), that's how i want to be...

Robert Cross did awsome. Wayne Newton's my second.
Dean Domino also had a good voice actor, and Big Sal and Danny Trejo also just nailed it.

But Sunny Smiles........

Exactly that. That was the FIRST thing that popped into my head, when I played for the first time. It wasn't until later, after looking her up, that I found out she had...um...experience read before.

EDIT : Oh yea...Another one I liked was...I can't remember the character's or actor's name, for some reason. ( imagine that! ) It was the little scientist, at Camp Mac. The one with the southern draw. The actress that done her, was also several characters in the game. Some I would have never thought it was the same actress. She has a wide voice range.

Gotta agree with all of you on Sunny Smiles. Just... ergh.

My favorites were Cass, Mr. House, the entire Think Tank (but especially Dr. 0 and Doctor Borous), and Muggy.

I liked Matthew Perry's VO work overall on Benny personally but I think he could have done a bit better. However, that accent he has in his voice gets me every time.

House was great.

Everyone in the Think Tank: A+

Benny was weak.

Ulysses was bad, but he had pretty ridiculous lines to deliver.

ED-E was outstanding.

Wayne Newton was, sadly, really annoying. I had to switch the radio off very early in the game because of him. Three Dog was much more palatable.

It's one of the generic voice actors that I can't stand, one character that comes to mind that he voices is Oliver Swanick. Definitely agree with Joshua Graham, he's almost everyone's favorite character but I gotta admit he's mine too, next to Raul. Raul is the best character IMO, only companion I use.

I hate the new voices of Mr Handy's and other robots. They make me cringe every time I hear them. The FO3 robots sounded far better.

For me, Dean Domino, Mr. House, Ulysses, Arcade Gannon, Chief Hanlon, and Jane the Securitron were the best hands down.

As for worst? Antony in The Fort, his voice made my butt clench.

For me, Dean Domino, Mr. House, Ulysses, Arcade Gannon, Chief Hanlon

This^ with the addition of Raul, Joshua Graham, The King, Vulpes, and Colonel Moore

As for my least favorite, Benny and Antony. I almost forgot about Antony but his voice does grate on my ears. As for Benny, Mathew Perry just did a half [censored] job.

The worst is totally Veronica Belmont playing the Light Switches, Stealth Suit, and Christine. Such horrible line reading.

Agreed. Her delivery was truly cringe-worthy.

My favorite voice actor was Jocelyn Blue who voiced Dr. Dala in OWB.

I think that Joshua Graham had the best voice, then Ulysses, then Legate Lanius.

Go ahead and list your favorites and your least favorite. Feel free to include your own categories as well.

My favorite voice actors have to be:

Joshua Graham played by Keith Szarabajka - That's just one badass, well-played voice that really suits our expectations of Joshua Graham. My favorite quote of the game is by him. ("I want to have my revenge. Against him. Against Caesar. I want to call it my own, to make my anger God's anger. To justify the things I've done.")

Rose of Sharon Cassidy played by Rachel Roswell - Just has soooo much character in the voice. When I hear her speak, I feel like I truly recognize this personality-type, like I've met this type of person before. And sure enough, I understood what kind of person Cass was after the first time she finished a sentence.

Right up there with those two, a favorite voice actor I consider the Most Underrated:

The Book Chute played by Beau Weaver - Ok ok, people love the type of humor that Muggy and the Toaster present. I get it. But c'mon, I cracked up when I heard the Book Chute. Sounds SOOOO convincing. Just like hearing Cass makes me think "ah she's this personality-type," I hear the Book Chute and immediately think "Ah crap, it's one of THOSE guys..." Reminds me so much of an obsessive-compulsive German teacher I once had.

Most disappointing was:

Veronica Santangelo played by Felicia Day - Not gonna lie, when I see people say she's the best, I can't help but feel like people are saying that just because of who she is, and not actually based on the quality of her work. I play the German version of the game, and I prefer our German Veronica over Felicia Day; a very rare occurance that I prefer a German voice actor over the original, but ours turned out to be really pretty damn good, making Felicia Day seem bland by comparison.

Best at delivering jokes:

Raul Tejada by Danny Trejo - Danny did pretty freaking good at keeping a straight face while delivering the more sarcastic lines. This is the only character I can think of that provided sarcastic humor without using an overtly-blatant sarcastic tone to go along with it.

Voice Actor I thought I'd hate, but turned out ok:

Ulysses
by Roger Cross - Ulysses had a weird style of speaking and he barely ever conveyed emotion, so when we first heard him, I was disappointed. When Lonesome Road came out though, then he came alive a little more. Wasn't amazing, but it wasn't bad either.

Other than Weaver I have to agree. Felicia didn't disappoint me, for that matter I didn't know who she was out of every VA in the game, but I wasn't impressed or eye opened either. She remains a forgetable character and voice over for Veronica other than the info on the BoS's situation and Elijah along with side comments.

Keith's work for Joshua was phenominal. Every word uttered really hit me. Such a great character and voice actor let down by a mediocre at best dlc experience.

Cass I do feel is a bit underrated. A character you can very well connect with and she surprisingly has a ton of dialogue and different comments. Very human character. It's too bad most people put her down or skip her just because of her chains to the Drink.

In OWB I liked the voice acting for the Jefferson Jukebox guy and the Sink. The Biological research center was just plain creepy. And let'd face it. "Gay" shot across your head.

Muggy wasn't all that amusing other than some lines.

For Weaver, I liked some of his communism cracks. It did strike me as some of those older teachers or parents who are very anti-communist/ism and are inclined to show it.

Jocelyn Blue's performance as Dala wasn't all that great other than the laugh or two along the way.

My favorite performance of the game was probably Dean Domi- Nah.

Hm. I'm not quite sure. Keith probably.

Worst VA

Jesse Burch - He voiced a few characters, and turned in his best performance voicing Dr. Whitely in lonesome road, you might notice him as the guy that ALWAYS SOUNDS BORED. I seriously get taken out of the game whenever I hear him. Dr. Whitely was the first time I ever heard any emotion from him, otherwise he sounds like a librarian getting bothered. To make matters worse, he voiced Motor-Runner, who I expected to sound like a raging crack fiend or micheal clark duncan, because he needs to sound intimidating to control the fiends, but NOPE. The most bored half alseep voice actor IN THE GAME voices the guy who I felt should be most intimidating next to Lanius. Another thing, is that he voices SO MANY CHARACTERS. THE WORST VA. Why couldnt he have been one of the VAs that only voiced ONE person. Some of the better VAs I heard I only had one or two people.

VA I wasnt expecting to sound like that.

Joshua Graham played by Keith Szarabajka - I wasnt expecting Joshua to have so much hate and anger in his voice, he sounded too much like a legate still, I get the guy is pissed, but I think his voice could have been a little less guttural and still intimidating. He was still a great VA though.

Funniest VAs

Old World Blues Cast - The entire cast was hilarious, special shoutout to Mobius, Muggy and the biological research station. I actually thought the toaster was the worst, a little too much overacting.

Veronica - Felicia Day - I found myself laughing at her more then anyone else in the game.

Raul - Danny Trejo - I wasnt expecting him to be that funny. Good times.

Best VA

House - René Murat Auberjonois - He got the voice I was expecting bang-on. Fantastic talent

Boone - Jason Marsden - Phenominal voice talent, voicing a phenominally written character. Great stuff.

Underwhelming VAs

Ulysseys - He sounded great in the OWB's holotapes and the trailer for Lonesome Road, but during lonesome road he ended up sounding pretty boring. That really saddened me.

The Tops Casino/Benny - They tried to sound all swinging fifties and stuff but never quite pulled it off, which is a let down because I LOVE the swinging fifties style voices.

Listening to Ulysses' awkward pauses and breathing makes me want to punch him in the face. I might shoot him on sight just based on his voice alone.

Having attended a pretty hefty chunk of the VO sessions, here's my list:

Favorites:

William Sadler as Victor: I really lobbied hard to get Sadler, as I'm a fan of his work (he's a very underrated character actor). He was such a nice guy, super enthusiastic, and was really into the whole process. And the end result was pure gold. I'll keep him in mind for any projects moving forward.

Rene Auberjonois as House: From line one, that dude just got it. Was pitch perfect. And his death sounds? Unbelievable. Was an honor to work with that guy.

Jason Spisak as Vulpes: Jason came to us from one of our open casting calls, and really impressed us with his ability to deliver a slow, methodical, evil voice. Listen to his line reads when he talks about the lottery. So great. Which is crazy, because he's primarily known for doing super cartoony voices (in between takes, he would read those same lines like that...hilarious).

Yuri Lownenthal as *.*: Yuri voices so many characters that people kind of forget about him, but there are some real gems in there, from his lottery winner to the dog guy at the Fort. He was a total professional, and didn't shy away from a 1,500 page script. The same can be said for our other heavy lifters, like Liam O'Brian and Jesse Burch.

Jason Marsden as Boone: This was not a light recording session. Boone isn't exactly happy. But Jason did a hell of a job reading some very tough material.

Least favorite:

The actress I had to fire. I won't name names, since she voices a few characters in the world, but we did fire an actress because she wasn't working out. That happens. Video game VO work is hard, and not everyone is up to the task.

Mr Houses VA. His voice was just... Right for the role. Reminds me of Andrew Ryan.

Also loved the people playing the think tank and mobius. The writing and VA were awesome in the dlc.

Others I liked but those were my favorite.

I dont see why people have an issue with Ulysses voice. Whats the problem ? Sounds good to me.

Most dissapointing, I dont know. Im saying caesar because how I dont like how he pronounces antithesis.
