A deathclaw as a weapon?

your friend ok?

Anyways, theres no deathclaw thing, although there is somethings called a deathclaw gauntlet.

As for armor, probrably the enclave armour you get in Gannon's quest.

5.4.3.2.1.0...BOOM is right. There is the Deathclaw Gauntlet. But it isn't a Melee Weapon it's an Unarmed Weapon, and unless you own The Pitt, where you can find one that has already been made, you have to to build one from schematics.

More info http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Deathclaw_gauntlet_(Fallout_3) at the wiki.

Well I always go with the combat armor you get from Riley, though I am sure that there is better armor out there. As for weapons, if you find Lincoln's Repeater and the Reservist's rifle then you should be able to protect yourself well. Also, the nuka-grenade is probably the best grenade in the game. Whenever you stumble upon special weapons like the reservists rifle then use those, they usually are much better versions than the original type of weapon.

This a very easy question to answer -

Best Armor = Wasteland Settler Outfit
Best Weapon = Hunting Rifle

That combination with Dogmeat is everything you ever needed

I've come to really like the Tribal Power Armor from The Pitt, and Ol Painless. The armor gives good protection plus stat bonuses and extra action points. With it I can fire Ol Painless four times (or punch the steel knuckles five times). I am still experimenting on whether I prefer the steel knuckles or Deathclaw Gauntlet. The steel knuckles do good damage and attack 5 times in VATS, but the DG ignores armor and does more damage. The problem is the DG weigh 10 pounds.

Ol Painless is very accurate, does good damage, has very good range, is durable and the ammo is cheap and plentiful. Also finding hunting rifles to repair it with is easy.

I assure you that all you need in Fallout 3 is a Hunting Rifle, Wasteland Settler Outfit, and Dogmeat.... that's how fallout was meant to be played

Anyway, my favorites are:

Energy weapons:
Gauss Rifle (Operation Ancourage)
Unique plasma rifle from replicated man quest at rivet city ("AR-23"? plasma rifle?)
Metal blaster (I think that's what it is called, it is from the Pitt)

Small guns:
Lincoln's Repeater. Probably the best gun in the game. Extremely easy to repair with it taking hunting rifles, but it does take Magnum ammo. (Easily obtainable from the Pitt, but requires caravan/shop hopping to find it otherwise.)
Ol' Painless: Unique hunting rifle from the Republic of Dave.
Unique Chinese Assault rifle: Complete the unmarked quest from the museum of technology computers
Blackhawk: Scopped 44 Magnum. Might want to look it up on the wiki, forgot where I obtained it

Melee:
Shishkabob: Amazing crafted weapon you get from a schematic

Unarmed:
Fisto! (Forgot where I got it)
Deathclaw gauntlet: Crafted

Big Guns:
Eugene: From Riley's Rangers quest
Vendicator: Forgot location
Rock-it launcher: Crafted. Weird to use due to it taking junk, but surprisingly damaging and effective.
Tesla cannon: From broken steel quest line

Explosive:
Nuka grenades: Crafted, but really hard to make.
Bottlecap mines: Not that hard to make and extremely damaging. Devestating against tough melee units.

@RTS player : you get the feel and the fear of the fallout world when you use the wasteland settler outfit and a hunting rifle.. point is you have no idea what he is talking about...

the rest of weapons and armor are there for people to play the game the way they want...

I know what he's talking about, but saying it is the only way to play is ridiculous. I don't know how hardcoe you have to be to role-play in a single-player game to such an extent where you intentionally hold yourself back. You can have your fun, I can have mine. Just like anyone else can. Don't try to force your leetness on others.

I guess you can forget the fact he contributed nothing to what the OP was asking or seemed to care at all about the topic. He just told a new player nothing worthwhile.

You stop forcing your opinion on others.. He has his opinion, you have yours , I have mine, lets keep it that way. what happened to those days when people used to respect others opinions...

Best weapon is the hunting rifle, decent damage, plenty of ammo and its a poor man's sniper rifle
as for best armor, its combat armor, best looking armor is definitely regulator armor...

I'm not forcing my opinion on anyone, but do you really think "This man has no idea what he's talking about. THIS is the only way to play" is not forcing your opinion on someone? I'm just saying the OP should reach his own conclusion on how he wants to play. I'm encouraging a respecting of opinions. He was not implying he was stating an opinion, he was implying either you do it his way or you're an idiot.

The OP asked what was the best Power Armor. I provided my opinion. I also provided my opinion on the deathclaw gauntlet, steel knuckles, and Ol Painless. Please show me where the devs said the way FO3 was meant to be played was with a hunting rifle, wasteland settler outfit, and dogmeat. If you want to play FO3 as a Boy and his Dog 2010 that is your option. It isn't for everyone. You need to look at the rules of the forum before you make personal attacks.

As some have said, it really depends on your role play (assuming you want to actually role play?)

I never use Power Armor, and never will. Never use heavy armor at all, even in Oblivion or Morrowind (except for training the skill). Ugly, bulky stuff - ick! :P

As a nature spirit, I stress speed, agility, and flexibility. "They never knew what hit them" is a good motto my characters take to heart very seriously. They also embrace the need to look terrific and demonstrating both great caring and great vengeance, whichever is called for by the context.

I focus on energy rather than physical projectiles (electromagnetic energy rather than kinetic energy, if you will). The "Raising Heart" magical staff mod makes a Gatling Laser look wimpy, but I try not to use it. For general use, the Wazer Wifle is probably what I have found to be the most effective weapon, assuming you develop your skills to match the weapon.
