Best 2H weapons

Post » Fri Dec 16, 2011 7:41 pm

So what is the best 2 hand weapon? I tend to go for the Great Sword but can't help to think I'm missing out. I was thinking about using Battle Axe, but is the extra bleed damage worth it. The Hammer is pretty slow but has ignore damage bonus perks. So any suggestions on what is the best.

Considering that power attacks seem to attack at the same speed (Have not noticed a difference) I think Warhammers are the best, especially later in the game when the gap between the other two 2h weapon types gets bigger.

Edit: Oh and the ignore armor perks that go with it will be a great help against armored enemies. The bleed is weak and ill take the constant effect of ignore armor over a 10 - 20% to crit hit.

I love the look of the Glass battleaxe. I just can't get passed the fact that the handle of battleaxes and warhammers stick 3 feet over the characters head.

I agree. My primary weapon is currently a Legendary Daedric Warhammer, and between the buffs on my default gear, and the enchanting and smithing improvements I've made to it, it does about 235 damage.

I'm diggin' it.

I started out with the great sword and liked it a lot. But found a Ancient Nord Battle Axe, for about the same weight you do more damage. I have gauntlets that give me 15% more damage when using a battle axe too.
I just think it's a more bad ass weapon ;)

My Nord Warrior currently rocks a warhammer. I kind of wish I had gone with an axe, as I'd like to see someone's head get cut off, but I guess I'll have to deal with watching a bandit's face getting smashed in with my awesome steel warhammer. Let me tell you, a Dwarven helmet, Steel Plate armor and a steel Warhammer makes your character look like a walking badass.

Battle-axe. I don't use 2h weapons but when I do I use battle-axes.

Cheers

Bleed definitely is weak especially since it does nothing against any undead. The ignore armor isn't that great either since there are hardly any heavily armored enemies. There is a good discussion of this topic on the hints forum on the crazy damage thread.

I'm starting to like axes more. Both for one hand and two hand. The extra bleeding perks look VERY ENTICING. But this playthrough I'll be focusing on one hand axe +shield + illusion and archery. I'm not doing enchanting so I'm gonna need the extra bleeding damage on that axe. And axes swing almost as fast as swords. I barely notice the difference. Hammers are a different story though.

Looking forward on getting my hands on a skyforge steel or elven battleaxe.

I decapitate people with my warhammer. Looks ridicolous.

Some good replies, I think I'll stick with my Great Sword. But that Ebony Battle Axe looks so great...
