Best & worst news for you so far?

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 6:58 pm

Best:
-Companions and the "magnetic attacking" as not to attack them and get a bounty when it wassnt my fault. i didn't mean to hit the orc knight lady it just happened, im sorry.
-New Combat system, Perks and what not.
-Sheild Bashing, feel my Boss you worm!
-The clouds on the mountain slopes super atmospheric.
-Matt Damon
-No more ugly characters after spending an hour making them look good to get out side and realize they are green blue and orange
-New Magic system looks like it could be promising.
-Soundtrack is a step up from oblivion after the step down from morrowind!
-Handcrafted dungeons.
-Haven't Seen the smithing yet but it could be amazing.

Worst:
-Hmmmmm the absence of the adoring fan but I'm sure they'll find a way to replace him... Not that he could ever be replaced. But please tell me one thing are elves in elder scrolls meant to be immortals? if so then maybe there is hope.
-Level Locking on Dungeons.
-Not seen any Katanas or scimitars in the video. Hope They will be in game.
-Absence of Spears and crossbows.

Edit: the absence of dwarfs is also bad i want the dwermer to come back out of their ruins, an good thing reintroduction of dwermer ruins

-Matt Damon

What???

Oh and for all of you who dont like the not having block on 1h weapon, is that confirmed? If it is, its not a big deal for computer players since I believe it EASILY can be modded!

And for the topic:

Best: Every little feature like cooking, fishing and stuff, extremely beautiful fog and draw distance, the detailed radiant behavoir (AI) or what its called. And almost everything I heard so far

Worst: Not being able to talk to all NPC's. But thats not a big deal IMO, Fallout worked fine that way. Also the lesser choices you have to specify your character. I kinda liked D&D when it took me 1 hour to customize my char. But I think Bethesda knows what their doing

Best: "Perk System" I can't wait to see how you can actually specialize a character through this, rather than just "Lvl ur skills and do the same twirl attack"

Worst: Weapon Variety. Seems like we'll be stuck with something like Oblivion.

There's a lot more I don't want to really speculate and hype myself up over, and have it turn out to be false. But I'm hoping for a little more "culture" in the world. It's a layer of depth to exploration that I feel shouldn't have been (Intentionally or otherwise) removed from the Morrowind->Oblivion transfer.

In the Worst category, French Ninja, you missed an absolutely deal breaking critical point.
That for the physical retail PC versions of the game, online DRM via Steam is being carried out against physical retail PC gamers, generating 4 points that make TES V the first TES game I will never get.
- Install of online gaming sys-scam is mandatory.
- Having an online gaming sys-scam account is mandatory.
- Online verification for install is mandatory.
- Online verification for first play is mandatory.

Wow, is there really all those DRMs? They'll all be cracked Day(-5) (6-11-11) anyway. What's the point?

That said, I'm a legit gamer, and so much for considering getting a new PC for this game, I'll stick with lower Frame Rates, no mods (Never really use them anyway) and weaker graphics, so I can actually play the game.

Yeah or he'll wear a prosthetic nose and con you then say "The nose plays"

On topic I have decided to just replay oblivion in its entirety then save for a new pc then buy TES V after it has been modded to awesomeness

Worst
--------------------
-Dragonborn (So I already have a predefined purpose :/ Hope it can be avoided)

You were The Nevarine in Morrowind... how is having a certain role to play a bad thing? There needs to be some grounding for the main plot after all. They're just trying to give you a sense of destiny, which I think worked out great in Morrowind.

Good:
Almost everything I've seen and heard about the game so far sounds fantastic. I especially look forward to the combat changes, dragon mythology, and the improved radiant AI which should make the game so much more immersive.

Bad:
Same size world as Oblivion. I was hoping for something a tad bigger. But I'm sure it will still feel like a large-enough world.

Best: Radiant Story, Combat, Bows and Daggers actually useful for stealth, and lots more...

Worst: No spears or Crossbows :(

And I also find it hilarious when people say the perk system will be generic and boring. We don't know much of anything about the perks, so quit complaining. Also, the magnetism attacks is needed IMO. I might actually play as a mage for once.

If I have to pick a single best, it's probably the variety in destruction. I liked the implementation of every skill in Oblivion (or thought it was decent) except for hand-to-hand, speechcraft, and destruction. Being able to place a freezing rune on the ground alone adds more than enough variety and tactical potential to the skill that I won't be able to resist getting destruction and a few perks for it on my first character.

The thing I'm most worried about is the sprinting system. I loved playing a marksman in Oblivion and needing to slowly swivel around and sprint away after every slow shot has me a bit worried that I won't enjoy the skill anymore even if it is more "responsive." It might be fun, but it might not.

Best:

Better Animation system

Sprinting

No classes. I believe this helps role playing and immersion more than the old clunky style. Its how you play that makes your character an assassin, mage or witch hunter, etc.

Worst:

No blocking with 1h? I hope that's false.

Not enough weapon variety.
