Patience is a virtue I learned from playing videogames.

What you mean with 17 minutes ???

PS4 game disc install time is very fast. Perhaps a minute tops. (also to notice, the disc is not even full - so less than that.)

The day one patch is another story...

Yep...not even a minute.

I have 6 games so far.

The Witcher 3

Driveclub

Call of Duty Advanced Warfare

Call of Duty GHOSTS

Battlefield 4

Diablo III

The install time is not even a minute...in most of them.

--------

Does the installation procedure last much longer on the XBOX One ???

I don't own a PS4; I was going by average times in an article. PS4 times are always faster, it seems. Good for you guys; I brought a crappy XBox.

It can take a while for an XBox game to install, though it installs essentials first. Forza 5 took about 5 or 10 minutes (I didn't time it) before I could play.

I'll most likely receive the game on the Monday from where I have pre-ordered from.

So i'll install it and be playing it long before any of you :)

Xbox is not crappy. It's just how the Blu-ray unit works.

Anyway, you install the game only once, so who cares...

Just kidding about the XBox; it's okay.

But even though you install once you still have to wait. I don't want to wait. I'm a 53 year old man and I'm like a 5 year-old on Christmas Eve.

I'm new to the PS4 but what makes you think it's gonna take 20+ minutes? The only physical game I own yet is The Last of Us Remastered (48GB) and it took like less than 5 minutes to install?

with preloads, time to instal is drasticly smaller, but if you didnt preload for some weird reason, then i estimate between 15-30 min for intial install, and depending if that is packaged with the D1 update or not, an added 5-10 min for the D1 update should you still need it. So anywhere between 20-40 min is my guess. Besides, it highly depends on your own internet connection speed anyway, some will have superfast connections, while others are still on Dial-up speed. :D

Well first of all this would be a really stupid bet

For the fact that console install time can range from 2 seconds - 2 days depending on someones internet

i mean it pretty much entirely is based on internet

It will probably take about thirty minutes to an hour for me I guess.

Anyway.

If I have waited for years to play Fallout 4, I surely can wait another hour. Doesn't bother me that much to be honest.

Hmmm, kinda crazy reading how some gamers don't relish waiting that 10-15 minutes before entering the commonwealth. This is an infinitely small period of time compared to how long many have waited for the game to appear at all.... I'm sure we can handle it! :D

I don't know on ps4.. I've never known. Once the game is ready to play it doesn't tell you how much time is left for it to actually be fully installed. This has backfired on me in the past with a few random games though.. I'll be playing the game and then the game will stop and tell me I have to wait for the rest to be installed. Your only option then is to listen for when the disc stops spinning. However, I don't see that happening with F4.. It has a character creation system. That'll most likely give me an hour or longer of perfectionism game play before I even jump into actually playing the game. Plus, I'll have the game guide and I'll be perusing the guide looking at the maps, collectible tables, weapon charts and reading up on perks and character creation.

Well considering I just got Destiny on PS4 and the recent patch was 30gb, it took me 2-3 hours (based on what the screen said) and my download speed is 13.3 Mbps.

Before my download speed was 4.2 Mbps during download but than I enhanced it so not sure.
Anyone got any idea with those speeds??
