Beta Annoucement Tommorrow?

Post » Mon Mar 10, 2014 6:12 pm

The next two days, we will if the crystal ball is right and we have a beta this weekend.

1) What do you see in the beta's crystal ball?

2) What you be doing in this beta (besides reporting bugs / feedback via the ingame commands)?

3) Are doing anything special for beta chars? Chances are one never see them again :(

4) Do you think this will be the last Beta test?

5) Do you think the forums will be moved before early access?

No announcement yet, so our hopes are looking bleak.

A bugfixed version \o/.

Trying stuff I didn't get to. Crafting (only figured out how to extract at the end of the last beta). Galloping around on my recently-acquired horse. I watched a lot of videos between then and now (Force Strategy has been the most helpful) so now I am more clued-up on how to get involved in more of the activities (especially dungeons).

Naaa. Let 'em burn (the one has a really gimped build anyway).

No idea. There were hints of two betas before release.

Hopefully, that way we will be rid of "why I am not buying this game" threads. I would be happy the forum moved today.

Not gonna bother with this weekends beta, if there is one. Release is just under three weeks away and I wanna forget as much as possible, so I can have a clean experience. This next one is more than likely gonna be a marketing beta, so my feedback won't be needed, as almost everything will be sorted.

Why would you make a topic that says "Tomorrow's beta"? You looking for attention?

Edit: That's better. =)

Just a play on words ;) I was referring to the beta email invite, the beta itself...

So to answer your questions:

1. I see a lot of the bugs (but not all) fixed and the game looks more polished.

2. Figuring out my build.

3. Probably some kind of GM event in Cyrodil.

4. Yes this will be the last beta test.

5. The forums will be moved before EA I'm sure.

It would be the invites that'd likely go out tomorrow, beta is rumoured to be on Friday 14th.

Yeah, but on the private test server, they're on .181, so it would just be another server stress test, or marketing beta, like I said.

I've seen all the patch notes for the PTS and there's some cool things, which makes me want to wait that little bit longer to enjoy :P

The next Beta weekend would most likely be another form of "Publicity" where nothing, just like the past beta's has changed. Broken quests, and some disgruntled people talking about how TESO is garbage, due to testing a Demo build.

Yeah... Next weekend Beta test I'm not going to even bother with. Past experiences with their Beta's have shown they're not making any attempt to give us, or the people who pre-purchased the game anything new to try out, and are just simply inviting every Tom, D_ck, and Harry to the test. That and tonight I'll be pulling an all nighter, even though I probably shouldn't due wot work and all, but Dark Souls 2... It's for the good of all Mankind.

And as someone pointed out, it's not much longer now before those of us get our Early Access, which I'm totally looking forward to.

If when I log on to the beta there are no characters to play, then that will be a good indication that we're using the PTS build.

The patch - fixing the best known (and most reported) quest bugs, rechecking the higher level content, trying to ensure it's as smooth a release as possible.

Hopefully changes to the launcher, to announce what's coming up next (content changes only). This sort of thing should help keep people holding on for more and give them something to look forward to. Could announce new zones (and levels) in there, new content ie player housing, percentage complete (estimate) / phase ie beta testing.

Depends how it goes. The load testing required a lot more people. This sort of thing not so many.
