beta forum

Post » Thu Mar 20, 2014 3:05 pm

I think, the beta forum should be opened up before launch, for these reasons.

1: So can gain insight to class builds

2: To gain better knowledge, pve tactics

3: To know what guilds are already running

4: To know some pvp tactics

5: Why not the nda has been lifted

Yes I will gain these insights into the game at some point, but I with access to the main forum. I could give my self a head start, before the day I start playing properly.

You can do all these things without the beta forums being up, but they will be up again shortly before Early Access gets underway.

Also, the NDA was lifted eons ago.

In the meantime, why not go to Tamriel Foundry for all your tactics and guild needs?

5. NDA was lifted a few weeks ago.

The rest of that information is available in abundance here and in many other places.

The beta forums are only available to players who are active in a beta. Makes no sense to keep them open between tests.

Again, they're going to open them up to everyone with a subscription once Early Access hits, so this is a non-issue.

The ZOS forums will be up and running about the time Early Access starts. The beta forum section will probably be closed as they no longer have a purpose after release, however I don't know what will happen to that section.

Punctuation is important - Why not, the NDA has been lifted.

All the information you requested is still readily available.

No problem, I assume with many people that English is not their first language. However in the above case, the sentence took on a completely different meaning without punctuation. No offense meant.

The beta forums need to be limited to only those who are currently participating in the beta. The purpose of the beta forums is for the development teams and beta participants to communicate back and forth and carry discussions on what both sides feel should be worked on, tweaked, etc.. based on their current experiences participating in the game.

Leaving them open to people who aren't currently participating in the beta just sullies the pool. The discussions definitely don't need to be inundated with opinions, conjectures, rants, raves, etc.. as all it does is make it more difficult to those who are actively involved to communicate efficiently.

you can have pts closed off that, to let ask about thing if different parts to people are playing, since we are paying for it at end of the day.

The class builds people come up with in beta might not exist come "real game" release. I've seen things about the classes abilities/skills/numbers change from beta to beta. Develop a super fantastic build from information in the beta forum and find out that it won't work in the game because things have changed.

Same thing about tactics; what works now might not still be working in the real game. A friend who was also in beta couldn't figure out why I was having issues with one boss; until he made a new character and tried the fight for himself. Turns out the boss didn't used to have the same attacks and damage that the new version did. Surprise. His old tactics wouldn't work with the boss's new setup.

Guilds are posting here; there are posts on TF for guilds. Since the guilds have a population cap, iirc, finding a guild that is already running might not help much if they don't have space in their roster.

The nda has been lifted for a while now.

beta forums are not with the things you listed. There is just similar discussion, but more only about the game - nothing special to take knowledge.

Even after the recent server move, TF is still hopelessly slow for me. Also can't stand the site design, everything takes up way too much space, even on the forums >< Wish it were more functional.

I always had a low opinion of Reddit previously, but I've been reading the ESO subreddit over there and IMO it's a good community, with a lot of expertise among the members, and thoughtful discussion. Mostly

I am surprised the ZoS official (non-Beta) ESO forums didn't open at least six months ago. Never seen another game that didn't provide official forms well before release (nothing wrong with THIS one, of course, except lack of subforums  ) So yeah... I voted "no" on opening up beta forums, but I think the REAL forums should not only be open, but should have been opened long ago :P
