Beta levelregion limit?

Post » Fri Feb 28, 2014 7:03 pm

Anyone know what the level/region limit for this beta is?

Last time it was limited to the lv 5-15 area. I hope it has been raised so we can decide how good or bad the combat is in this game.

you can only explore the first major zone(auridon for AD, stone falls for EP, and glenumbra for DC) and cyrodiil.

That's... disappointing. I guess it would be too revealing. More so because it comes across like hiding something.

Hardly considering the next build is on the PTS right now and people are testing it. Thats not hiding something a company is by no means obligated in any shape or form to reveal everything about their game before it is even released. Be thankful with what they have told us.

Huh? The PTS is only for a few hundred people. And they still have the NDA, so yes, all that stuff is hidden from us.

And exactly how many people do you think are going to go looking for NDA breached info?

I'm saying it makes sense for them to show more if it benefits them. < lv15 is not even enough to get multiple builds working.

it's a server stress test beta! and not a multiple builds test or something else.

Oh, for the love of Talos.

The company isn't hiding anything. This is a big stress test weekend, which is why it's a shorter beta than last time, with even more people. They aren't running these betas for you to get a feel for how the game works. We're just here to try and overload the servers so that they can try and make launch day as smooth as possible.

Exactly, some people forget the reasons for a beta. A beta is not a demo, its not for people to hop on and play the game and give it a try before release. It is here for testing purposes.

You're incredibly naive if you think 2m people are going to download 20+ gigs just to stress test their servers. 95% of the people are downloading the beta because they want to get a feel for the game. I thought that was obvious. Zenimax knows it too. They even put in a monkey for incentive.

The zones that are available are more than enough to get a feel for the game. You would be hard-pressed to finish all quests in the areas that are accessible in the time the beta servers will be up anyway. Personally i only made it to the start of the big zone before the last beta weekend was over.

ZO is aware that people are downloading this beta because they think it's a free demo for them. However, that doesn't mean that their purposes for this weekend have changed. Their job is to get as many of those mouth-breathers on the servers as possible so that they can push them to their limit. It doesn't matter if the players are too dull to realize it; that's the only reason they're being invited.

Who cares why they are downloading it? ZOS wants to stress their servers to make sure launch goes smoothly. For that, you don't need to go past level 15. If you can't decide whether or not to play it based on the first 15 levels, then don' t play it. The PTS NDA is being lifted today and some PTS players have already set up live streams in anticipation, so you can see everything you want then.

We will however have streams of guys in the closed beta, just be sure who you pick to watch, most of them will stream what you can play, but a few are allowed to live stream with 0 nda issues, basically you get to see other area's, level 50 stuff, all that, its just that the "open" beta is mostly to stress test the servers only.
