Seem a nice mod to try out for the rts player. May well try it later when more work as been done
Continue the good work!

About the name stuff for the town, i got an idea as how to give one...

Place a special container that hold all the alphabet 10 time or more for very long name.
place a script on all letters that will activate when they are removed or added from a container.

The scrip would do something like this (with the "A" letter)

on menu add
set mainquest.name to mainquest.name + "A"
menu end

In the name menu two button "accept name" "rename/reset"
both button remove the letter to the container and the reset also cancel the name...

Does that look interresting/feasable ?

I've been playing this like non-stop for a day, and absolutely love it. Great work guys, one of my favorite mods out there.

Some issues: I've only been attacked by Raiders once, and I'm like 40 in game days in. Rivet City is the only one to send requests to me, and they always request food.

Suggestion: It just feels really cut off from the rest of the game, like it is a new game in itself. That isn't necessarily a bad thing, but it might be better if there was more interaction/effects on the rest of the Wasteland because of your town. Like people talking about it in other towns, maybe having the option to be an emissary yourself (with more chance of succeeding in your request.) Other suggestions, more furniture and stuff. Is the only furniture a cabinet? Because I have five of those and nothing else.

Anyway, thanks again guys! I love your mod, and I can't wait for you to integrate FOSE into it =P

I don't know how random it is, so I don't know if that's weird or normal. I thought events like that happened roughly once per week, and that's how it has worked out for me so far (I'm on Day 61 of founding the settlement I think).

Try crouch-activating your furniture (and everything else you place with RTS). A lot of the stuff has multiple variants and/or can be picked back up, cabinets included.

Potentially doable, but a conveluted method. at present changing the name of the town is not a priority for the next beta (more on that later)
we only have x amount of time and it is likely to be spent on different things...

The raiders only attacking once thats weird...did you win or draw?

As with it feeling really cut off from the rest of the game I agree. we are doing some stuff to increase interasction with the wasteland.
people talking about it in other towns unlikely...voice actors can be difficult to get but this is a consideration.

being an emissary yourself again intersting but not on the cards yet.

Moe furniture...a possibility.

FOSE is slowly being intergrated. this is the big thing of the next beta but it is looking awesome. check the videos above.

Wow this looks fantastic!

glad you like it.

I'll go with a massive understatement and say:

It is very, very nice.
You have done a wonderful job in making a truly astounding add on for FO3.
If people ask why FO wasn't finished when it was released, I tell them to look here.
[/cheerleading]
:)

Are you by any chance letting yourself be guided by the http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Settlers#Sequels? :hubbahubba:

Since all of the tools from the original game are already in FO, I was wondering..

There are a number of things inspiring this mod.

for me

the settlers
valkerie chronicles (for my DLC villagers stuff)
NWJ (oblivion mod)

I can't really speak for the other team members as i'm merely a helper.

I won, and their bodies are still outside, sitting in a radioactive puddle of water...

Thats good. You don't have to voice act either. Just do the same thing you did with the settlers, make people have to read the text when you talk to them.

Thats fine, it was just an idea. Not necessarily important either. Maybe buying gear/guards to protect your trade caravans would be interesting.

Then I think you may have found a bug. The corpses are supposed to disappear as soon as the attack is over.

Hello, im not sure if its meant to be like that, but as soon i kill somone the corpse disapear, its a pain trying to loot them :(. Beside that i can say i love the mod and still i havent played with everything :D.

If possible is it possible to add a timer on the corpse like 3 minute so you get time to loot them or at least some of them ( im talking about the crow nest spawn )

Oh, and maybe make it possible to be give soldiers your own equipment. It's kind of annoying having about a 100 Sniper Rifles/Power Armor but not being able to give it to them, though that might be unbalancing...

Sounds like a bug
The mod uses a small list of raiders that respawn if not in the game.
if the bodies are still there they are still in the game thus not respawn...I think...
definately mod list please.

there is a small possibility of some voice acting but I will say no more.

thank you arcoolka and the others work hard to try and make something new and fun.

Nope. would be unablancing you would end up with a lot of armour very quickly.

The creativity inherent in this mod is amazing - kudos to the design team!!!!!

Love it!

I am glad it does not use FOSE myself.... and appreciate that.

I seriously cannot rave enough about how this is original, unique, well-implemented and immersive.

I have just scratched the surface - my hope is it gets expensive to upkeep and build - so that if someone truly wants turrets etc. they have to pay, raise the capital for a capitol.

Kudos!

J

P.S. I notice people mentioning Raiders - but, as the settlement grows, do Talons/Enclave/Slavers attack as well? Hope so.

glad you like it.

this is the last version that will be FOSE free.
FOSE gives too many ptions not to use it at this time.

at present only raider attacks but we hope to expand this and welcome any help from others.

I am very interested in getting this mod, but I am a bit worried about it being "disconnected" from the rest of the game.

To improve on the "away" feeling, is it doable for me to build my settlement close to a raider base, or some other hostile NPC spawn point/patrol area?

That way, you can expect a good deal of action going on.

To add to that, do the settlers defend the settlement if under attack while I am gone somewhere else in the game? Do I get some sort of message telling me that the base is under attack?

There are certain aspects of the mod that appear diconnected with the rest of the game this is something that we are looking as.

You may be the first person to ask for MORE raider attacks :D

Soldiers will defend the settlerment
Tuttets will defend the settlerment
Villagers will defend the settlerment badly.

Yep you do get a message bout raider attacks.
