Beta in the wild.

On a sidenote: I read somewhere at the playstation forums that betas released by Sony (which is the case, since Sony sends out the emails with the invitations) generally come out 90-120 days before release.
It's not an official date, but I think that this sounds reasonable to accept, not?

If it were Sony's choice than I might accept it, but it sounds like this was SD/Beth's decision. The fact that its a single console may mean that they are having the most trouble with PS3, and need more people in the game to root out the bugs.

I dunno about you, but I wouldn't be doing or saying anything to risk my beta key if I had one.

The beta is probably for networking issues with PSN, considering he said it is not for gameplay issues, [snip]
Edit: I'm not platform bashing, there are just more variables on the PC. Xbox and PS3 are standard platforms; if it works on one it will work on all...the same is NOT for pc. So, they can bang out compatibility for pc and balance at the same time.

Got to admit that I'm excited. They also made an official statement at SD forums:

Never know they could open it up, even if it just PS3 networking issues, best way to test things like host migration and other networking stuff is with the general public, read bad net connections, rage quiters....

Does anyone know if it will come to the US PS3? I'd be forever in SD's debt if they did :)

There is no info to be had, other than the confirmation that there is a beta for PS3, and that there is a Non-Disclosure Agreement for everyone who is a part of it. They will probably stick to EU, where legal prosecution is possible if someone leaks the beta game or something serious like that.

PS3 only just like Assassin's Creed. Sigh.

Ah, ok. Well, i got a PM from Gstaff saying:
If we have any news on the possibility of a public beta, we'll let everyone know.

So, no news yet. I'll keep my eyes and ears peeled though, im very hopeful, especially if they make it a public beta

Because the PS3 is really difficult to program for, with its unique Cell processor. It is the console that is farther from a PC than any other console I'm aware of. The architecture allows programmers to make really efficient code for it when optimized for the hardware, but also makes a big hurdle when doing multi-platform games.

I know, I read it at the other forum.

Well... I'm in the US, and I have no PS3. Darn. Oh well, I guess I can just hope the lucky bastards getting to test it have plenty of fun and uncover any glitches or issues with the gameplay or networking.

oh, ok. They didn't word it that negatively in the PM, but if that's the official statement, i guess it would be more reliable

The game is under NDA. So expect videos of it to be taken down pretty fast.

EDIT: Guess not. Just did a search for it on youtube and got a 7 minute video of gameplay. It's been up for like a month.

All vids on youtube (surprisingly) are legit. There is some Container City Gameplay and the E3 demo. But no recent beta footage.
