My Beta Woes

Post » Fri Jan 10, 2014 7:52 pm

Got my Beta key (yay!) I have no internet until 24th (boo!)

Is there any point to me keeping my beta key? I was thinking about giving the key to a friend. At least someone can enjoy their time in Tamriel with their friends... :(

Unless, of course, there is some kind of rule against it that I didn't notice.

I do plan to play once I have my internet fixed. If I can get some kind of bonus items or achievements or something for being a Beta tester, I will definitely horde my precious beta code for myself.

Can blame Adolf Richard Branson for ruining this for me (waiting since October for a connection! :stare: )

You should ask this on the beta forums. Anyway, without an internet connection, you won't be able to download the client (several hours with an average connection), so the answer seems to be obvious. I'm not sure that you can give your key to someone else.

If this answer breaks the NDA, please any mod delete it.

They key is for you and you alone. Giving the key to a friend would prob be considered breaking the NDA and would get you and your friend banned from future closed beta tests

So, I wouldn't risk it.

And they key is only for this weekends test. Though you may possibly get a future invite.

The key applies to all beta events between now and release, not just this one.

Does it?

I was under the impression that the key was only good for the one event and if you got a future invite, a new key would be provided.

I might be wrong there, then.

The key itself is simply to create your beta account. Invites to future tests from there on are directed towards that account.

Can anyone confirm this? I would really like to know.

Also would not utilising my current beta key reduce my odds of getting another opportunity within the next beta? Could I use my key without downloading the whole client?

Hello everyone! We’re thrilled by the excitement here over The Elder Scrolls Online beta test. To prevent beta-related threads from overwhelming the forum, let's please keep all related discussion in here. Additionally, a few reminders:

  • The Elder Scrolls Online beta test is under NDA (non-disclosure agreement); you shouldn’t be discussing details of the test in public places such as these forums, social media, streaming video, et cetera. If you’ve gotten in, it’s OK to let people know that, but you can’t say anything else about the test.
  • We have a private forum for the ESO Beta; the account information you need to log-in was sent with your beta invite.
  • If you are having trouble, or otherwise need help; you can check for solutions on our http://help.elderscrollsonline.com/, search the help section of the ESO beta forums, submit a http://help.elderscrollsonline.com/app/ask, or call customer support (details can be found in your invite). It’s very difficult for us to help if you ask here or on our social media channels, and chances are any such requests would break NDA.
  • If people post other threads about beta, or break the NDA; please let them know of their error politely and direct them to this thread. If content needs to be removed you should report it with the button found under every post.

This thread can be used to discuss publicly available information about the beta. Participants of beta can’t really say anything, but we do want to leave this open for everyone else rather than locking it as an FAQ.
