Beth: Please make auto health regen an option, or have it di

Post » Mon Sep 12, 2011 10:49 am

As the title says. I know many of us really do not want to play with auto health regen, and want a true hardcoe rpg experience. An option would take care of everyone, and having no auto health regen on the hard difficulty would also make sense.

You don't even know how much affect it will have yet.\

EDIT: I do understand the idea of it being turned off on hard difficulty, but I'm pretty sure it will never help during battles or dungeon-crawling so it will be easy to overlook.

A bit late for such requests, as they'd have to compensate with more or cheaper means of healing.

If auto health regen is even in, I don't think it will take much effort to make a mod that disable it. (on PC at least ;)

Why does everybody think that Beth will just add a toggle switch for everything that people might not like?

I don't think it will be that bad, honestly... so I've stopped to worry about it. As long as it's very slow, it's fine.
It's there for one reason (I think), and that's to reduce the "sleep every time you're hurt" repetition. That's a good reason imo.

How can u say health regen is too overdone yet?
In all the previews and hands on the journalists said that just fighting 3 bandits they almost died if they hadnt used all there health potions
I thought this was made clear
Ahd not many journalists brought it up except for saying it helped a little after they exited dungeons and were around towns

I was astounded when they first mentioned it, but at least it seems to be fairly slow. But yes, I made a thread a while back myself about tying regeneration rates to difficulty, so I definitely agree.

So what's the point in having it if it's not going to even help that much. Just dump it altogether and focus on something that is helpful...like the ability to truly play as a left hander...IE: Sword in left hand and shield in the right hand.

That isn't really that helpful either when you think about it.

More useful than health regen that isn't helpful at all.

I think it will be like the solar powered perk from fallout 3, except instead of sunlight, you're powered by not being in combat. And anyways, that perk made your health go up REALLY SLOWLY.

It's not about chalenge, it's about reality, and in real life your wounds heal over time so I don't see a point in removing it if it is plain slow.

I usually just wait to regen my health, so I won't be bothered with this.

...And IRL I can put a shield in my right hand should I choose, but in Skyrim I can't. Skyrim is about as far from reality as you can get, I just don't see a point in having such a useless thing in game as health regen that apparently doesn't do you much good at all. It's just a pointless ability that could be better used somewhere else.

They already stated that health regen isn't a very fast acting thing. It regens slower than magicka, so it's not like you can step back from a fight for ten seconds and be fully healed. Personally, it's a very helpful option imo.

it might've taken a day to do shields, thus leaving more time and resources for more useful things...like maybe Werewolves, which may or may not be in game already.
