Beth Should Do This (read topic first)

First I'll tell you my answer before I get into it. YES...I think they definitely should. As a 5 year anniversary of the release of Oblivion (3-20-06) they should definitely release some new info/screens or possibly a short clip of ACTUAL gameplay of Skyrim. FOR THE NINE!!!

I don't see how the 5 year anniversary of Oblivion is related to Skyrim.
They'll release info when they want, though.

No, I don't see the point. I would rather have their be less info available and have it be a surprise.

Yeah, the less the better. Why do you people want to spoil it? Why not just enjoy the game when it comes out? I mean info is great sure, I'd read if it they gave it, but I want to be surprised.

Why do people that don't want anything spoiled want it ruined for everyone that would love to hear more about the game, such as the new menu system or how all the races look, etc?

This reminds me of the whole fast travel thing. Just because you don't have the self control to not look doesn't mean everyone else should be punished for it. :)

Oblivion is The Elder Scrolls IV. Skyrim is The Elder Scrolls V. I'd say the fifth anniversary of the release of the fourth game has quite a bit to do with information about the fifth.

I would rather have a Sticky Thread for Bethesda asking Questions about Skyrim and then Tod Howard can start Answering when the time comes.

hm perhaps, not something huge but maybe a transcript of a book that you can find in skyrim that details the events immediately after the oblivion crisis (with a few historical inaccuracies of course).

i think that'd be a nice touch and would be a nod towards the oblivion anniversary

Great idea! Even more than that, how about two books: one from the perspective of the separatists and one from the perspective of the loyalists! Both could put a spin on things to make their side seem like the correct one. Heck, the authors of each might even think they are correct, with the true history being reflected better in some ways in either book, depending on the subject. A black and white civil war where one side is clearly in the right would be less interesting than a lore filled plot in which the war is really a great tragedy, with both sides having sympathetic lore and different propaganda and history books.

Edit:
With the second part of the Infernal City story still months away I guess that would spoil the books though.

Ofcourse I want them to do this, everybody want them to do it.
I voted no because I can't see it happening, and I truly think they shouldn't do it.
