Bethesda can we please get some AR platform assault rifles

Amen. No reason whatsoever to leave basic staples like this out of FO4...and then compound a bad choice by opting in for rubbish ballistic weapons centered around, what has turned out to be, a meh mod crafting system.

They were teed up for success with New Vegas...and well...I'll just say that it's obvious ballistic weapons are not their forte or priority, and receives the appropriate attention. Swords, battle axes, magic staves, bows, energy weapons, and power armor are more their thing. They're just not mine. Obsidian hit the sweet spot with weapons, ammo and explosives. Bethesda did the heavy handed thing. In their design view, it's like "You will play this way, and you will like it"...with your 27 lb assault rifle.

That's fine of course, it's their property. They can, and will, do what they want. It's just not a lot of fun, and really bland, unless you play their way.

Don't get me wrong, this is still a good game, and it will sell enough that what I think won't matter. It just could have been so much more.

But hey, at least they give us a toolkit. This game is ripe for a ton of weapon, ammo, and combat armor mods...and they will come...to both PC and consoles.

The canceled Fallout MMO was going to have Seattle as one of the areas, it was under perpetual nuclear winter. Imagine running into a mutated Grizzly Bear (which would make Yao Guai look pathetic in comparison, since Yao Guai are just mutated Black Bears). Or how about some easter egg where you come across Sasquatch footprints, or maybe even run into one (or it's skeleton). Find a coffee shop with an experimental Nuka Cola brand of coffee, called Nukabucks. Maybe have some Shi in Seattle, since Seattle does have a pretty large asian population, and it's not too far from San Francisco for a group as technologically advanced as the Shi.

I know it looks weird, but the Assault Rifle is a really nice one. My main gun throughout the game. Level 62 and still it's my go to.

I agree with this, too! My level 46 character currently has Army Fatigues with Ballistic Weave and Combat Armor, which doesn't look the best. My newest toon is going to go full BoS, so I would rather wear the BoS Uniform...but neither that nor the BoS Fatigues can be modded. Makes even less sense when you view the BoS as a military-type faction, and should be modding the hell out of everything for defensive reasons.

To be honest none of the base layer apparel should have gotten Ballistic Weave. :T more of it should have modding options like the vault suit, though. Toootally making a mod for that.
