Jeez, remind me not to expect this forum to be ever be mostly positive about something. These DLCs sound fantastic, and well worth the price - especially since we have the opportunity to buy them all up for $30 before the end of the month. (and anyone not jazzed about Automatron or Workshop should consider getting the season pass anyway - it's only $5 more than the Far Harbor DLC right now, and it'll set you up for whatever comes next too)
Automatron - I don't think this actually adds any quest content, and the Mechanist thing was just a reference. What I think it adds is a huge overhaul of robots and their leveled lists (they're bringing robobrains back! everybody talked about that!), and crafting stations to build and mod our own robots. And look at the screenshot - he's wearing robot parts as armor. And then there's the new "electric chain gun". And pleeease, for the love of Atom, let us mod Codsworth.
Wasteland Workshop - Taming and building an arena for wasteland creatures sounds like a ton of fun, and look at the promo screenshot; almost everything in that screenshot is something we can't already build, and it looks like they're adding a set of concrete structures we can build with.
The Far Harbor- "the largest landmass for an add-on that we’ve ever created". Let's talk about the price tag for a second - Point Lookout and the other landmass DLCs in Fallout 3 were $10, right? The Dragonborn DLC for Skyrim was $20, and Shivering Isles (the largest and most well-received expansion they've done to date) was a whopping $30. This one sits pretty at $25 - which makes me think it'll have more content than Dragonborn or any Fallout DLC, but maybe not as much as the great-and-mighty Shivering Isles.
The future unannounced DLC gives me hope, too - I think we'll get at least one more story expansion, possibly on the mainland (or in a location comparable to Fallout 3/New Vegas DLCs), and then another $5 little ditty. And the "mods could have done this" is a load of hooey - they're not asking us for an outrageous sum for Automatron or Workshop, and Bethesda have always had the edge on modders for adding new assets like voice acting and animations. There was a "build-your-own-home" mod for Skyrim, but it didn't include recruiting any followers as your steward, adopting children, or buying the deeds from Jarls.
It seems like they're separate comics set in the same universe, a la the Marvel Universe. The Grognak video game mentions the AntAgonizer, and Grognak, the Silver Shroud, and the Mistress of Mystery are all part of the Unstoppables super-group.
Dawnguard gave a ton of background to the Falmer, so I'm hoping the Far Harbor does similar with the Children of Atom in this game. There's a lot of potential with them, and I'd love to learn how the harmless kooks from Megaton turned into a bunch of homicidally insane mega cultists.
My bet is that they'll tweak the level scaling ranges to go into the 100s, so that high-level characters still have a challenge but you won't get slaughtered if you go at like level 20 or 30. One of the things I hated about Morrowind's expansions was that by the time you were a high enough level to do them, you were a high enough level to cheese the entire base game.
