Is Bethesda doing anything at all?

Post » Fri Jan 15, 2016 4:41 am

I apologize if I seem like I am gloating, but I see so many massive issues being exposed in this forum, but have not seen a single message from a moderator. Are they even attempting to help us? Please, if anyone knows how these things go, enlighten me. I'm not even going to start listing all the bugs I've encountered as it seems to be pointless, but some of these are completely game breaking. Bugs like the dangerous minds one are a pretty big deal, you would think they would have been fixed very quickly! What is going on? This is absolutely ludicrous, is it not? Maybe if game reviews had come out after anolyzing all these faults, and they received a 7-7.5, maybe then they would care a little bit more, no?

There are a few (very few) posts in which people posted "thanks" for some of the few fixes the one patch cured for them and the mods immediately responded to those... Funny huh....

I think they are focusing more on PC since I remember seeing a rather extensive thread over in the PC forums that was moderator controlled with color coding based on confirmed, repeatable, etc. bugs, which is quite sad considering that the console market has grown considerably and we're still being left in the dark.

Seriously, PC bugs have been fixed mostly by modders! We can't get those so... Cmon help us out here!

Yea I know, but Fallout 4 is the most buggy of their games I've ever played except for ESO. Even New Vegas worked better than this, I swear since Oblivion and the Shivering Isles, they have steadily been going down hill. It's as if they've become complacent, and know people will buy their games regardless because of its reputation, and barely finish their products maximize profits, and cut losses. Except they will bite the dust eventually, when companies are coming out with triple A titles like The Witcher 3, studios like Bethesda will lose their top spot, because this sort of crap is unacceptable nowadays! No point in making a massive game if your main quests get screwed up only because you decided to explore the wasteland for yourself... It's sad, all this big world for nothing but problems.

It would be nice to see some input from Bethesda. From what I see they don't reply on the forums, they ignore Twitter and they don't seem to update their news page or blog with any remote info about forth coming patches. Maybe they are all working on DLC and just hope we all just buy it. While I can still play Fallout I am totally stuck in the minuteman questline on Old Guns because of the glitchy castle radio tower which refuses to work even though it's powered.

I have resorted to reading the wiki before I do quests to make sure I won't fall foul of a glitch. One thing it has taught me is to make more saves, more often but still. Poor.

Yes, that's a glitch and can be solved - but only on PC, unfortunatelly...

Reload a previous save and try again! (This glitch does happen some times, but not always)

Seems to be an awful lot of topics asking for help with 0 replies. I've been trying to help those I can since it seems like nobody from Bethesda is going to.

Its quit simple, Bethesda only cares about one thing, and that's getting your MONEY....Bethesda is all about GREED. I bought fallout 4 on day one thinking things would get fixed on all platforms....boy was I wrong....I will never buy another Bethesda game on day one again.

A big open world game like Fallout 4 can not be fixed in a couple of months. That's obvious, i guess...

Thats the issue WHY was it even released in this state? It should have been on pc as a BETA yet it was charged at full price as a complete game, nobody else would get away with this yet for Bethesda its just the norm.

Well, the same happened with Skyrim, if I'm not mistaken.

Give it time... ;)

Skyrim was bad, but not nearly THIS bad. Not to mention modders have been fixing a lot of the issues rather easily over on PC, so official patching for a large amount of the problems really shouldn't be that difficult or take a ton of time if unpaid modders are able to do it.

I know building and testing a great game isn't easy. But selling a product like this, for no small sum, knowing how or how likely it is to be busted has got to be wrong.

Is buying a poor/incomplete video game more akin to buying a bad movie or buying a flawed car?

I do the same stormy and I hate playing an RPG to where I have to constantly look up the possible glitches for each quest. The fact that the kill shot perk is bugged to this extent tells me, without a doubt, they barely tested their final product. Skyrim wasn't nowhere near as bad as this, still bad and it's only been getting much worse since Oblivion in my opinion.

It's a sad joke, I may never look forward to Bethesda releases anymore. Who wants to spend 200 hours playing a game only to frustratingly get stuck in a main quest and have to stop progress for months because of their unresourcefulness. It is unacceptable for a final product of this scale, from a company this reputed, to screw their customer base over like this. It will reflect on their sales sometime in the future because too many are already frustrated. I can't afford, or want a high-end PC when I have a brand new TV to play on. It's sad that only the PC version is playable because of other players who are more resourceful than the developers. I feel sorry for everyone who's played this long only to get stuck, and I hope a fix will come soon.

The worst part about this whole thing is that Bethesda claims that they don't support console commands, yet it's with a wink and a nudge as the pc users basically do debugging for them, and console players are left to rot.

I hope im wrong about this but it feels like we will get a dlc patch with maybe 2 fixes and that`ll be it, dlc is far more important when you can get MORE money without fixing the issues that by now must be pages and pages long.

Lol, I can promise you I will not buy any DLC until most of these frustrating bugs are patched. No way in hell! I'll go back to playing The Witcher 3 thank you very much. Their patch included an amazingly well done New Game +, glitches were fixed within a month of release ??. Oh, and that was their first console game... Ever!!!

DLC is out of the question, until they fix the main game, I am just so frustrated with how Bethesda support is going about this...they have gone to fair to ridiculous?

Moderators are volunteers from the community - we aren't technically Bethesda employees. Myself, I'm not terribly technically-savvy, nor do I own a PS4 so there's not a ton of help I can give about issues and workarounds (haven't even beat the game yet and am doing my best to avoid spoilers for the most part.)

It would of course make moderating easier if Bethesda played a more active role on the forum, but that's the way they do things here. They've always released patches in the past - I have no idea what their timetable is for the next one, or if it's taking longer than they'd planned or not. But I'd be highly surprised if patches weren't underway.

Well thank you for your response! I think our frustration comes from the size of the game. It is very big indeed, with a lot to do. However, when exploring the game can lead to disastrous consequences on your play through, having a game of that size seems somewhat pointless. Many frustrated players will already have moved on to other games, and feel Bethesda doesn't care since they already handed them their money. They announced beforehand that they would be releasing small but frequent patches, a month has passed since the last one, and almost 2 months since release. Even the minor, simpler bugs haven't been fixed or talked about by anyone from the Bethesda team.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but to anyone spending 200 hours of their time exploring a game they feel is magnificent, to then only get stuck because on a main quest because an NPC won't talk due to a previously explored area (supposedly). That is the kind of stuff that if a patch is not released, at least reassure your customers one is very well underway!

I'm honestly surprised that anyone would volunteer to be a moderator for Bethesda, considering how little effort Bethesda puts in to support them (read: none). I'm not going to say it's ridiculous that there are bugs, even game breaking bugs. In the past we have had the console to make it tolerable. Now Bethesda has decided that they will not fix bugs, nor will they give us the tools that they give pc users to make the game playable. This is a really dumb situation. The first ps4/Xbox One patch should enable console commands.

Thank you for your input, it just supports what we're all saying. If you're a moderator and they aren't even giving you any sort of update so that you can try and communicate with us then there is something seriously wrong. I wish I had never bought the season pass upon release since I can't even enjoy the regular game nevermind the unpatched DLC they're probably going to shovel out.
