Bethesda, for sanity's sake....

Please, PLEASE put in an option to disable the hints while in build mode! I do not need to be told to "Build an object that requires power." every five seconds! This is intensely aggravating to me, as I'm unable to ignore small, flashing things, and I'd really rather not have to buy a new monitor after putting my fist through the one I have.

Thank you.

Actually an option to disable hints altogether. I've played through 3 times. I don't need a popup now!

Agreed. A simple tutorial toggle in the options menu would be ideal. Even though they're brief, I'd like to be able to toggle the little reminders in new playthroughs. I also don't constantly need to be reminded to open the workshop menu every time I step on one of my properties.

I get the hints at the beginning of the game, but I don't recall getting anything like this beyond the beginning tutorials. The only one I get is the "hold V to open workshop", and I don't even really notice that unless it's there when I'm trying to take a screenshot.

It's funny you say that.. I don't see them at all anymore. I seem to learn quickly to ignore any information that might bother me....like the middle of the screen "hidden" when in stealth which bothered me to no end in the beginning.. Unfortunately I also don't see settlement attack information or anything like that anymore either.

If your own pc you may find this useful for settlement warnings. http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/4106/?

I remember the good old days of the instruction manual. Non of this in-game hand holding tutorial nonsense. Toggle option in the menu would be ideal.

Funny, I've always been able to ignore the pop-up icon. It is kind of tucked away at the corner, and you don't even have to hit "A" to confirm that you've read it.

Yes but I am not a 2 year old that needs to be reminded of something 50 times before I "get it".

Yeah I'm conditioned to ignore them now which is a problem in itself because I also ignore messages like your "settlement is under attack" which is actually important thing to know.

I ignore those and go back to repair whatever. I should not need to be there. I gave them better weapons and armor. Missle launchers in one case.

I personally miss half the pop up messages too and/or am blind to the "build a power source" "hints" that pop up. Ive seen em but I think I just tune that stuff out since certain games stressfully never get rid of it. At least it doesn't make us hit triangle or X to clear the message off screen.

I wouldn't give settlers explosives, means more repairing from what I understand.

I actually like how in FO4 and TW3 they have in "In-game instruction manuals" in the help/options sections. However I do agree about the tutorials and the hand holding...It leaves no room to learn on your own.

I also have to agree. I was building my own place and placed a Mutfruit as decoration. I kept getting the 'reminder' to set up a recruitment beacon to get settlers to tend to my crops! Drove me nuts! It kept popping up every 30 seconds or so.

I remember them, I ignored them too. Just learned how to do stuff as I went.
