I'm am so damn happy about this steam workshop thing. Seriously this is the best news since skyrim was announced. Also, I saw stuff about putting out patches to fix balance and exploit issues! Awesome!

I bet the shadows will still svck. I also hope they'll address at least some of the massive buglist thread in next weeks patch. This does not make everything better. Bringing your game up to playable status a month after release day is a FAIL. That's not to say that I don't look forward to starting the game properly and perhaps beginning to enjoy it.

Hmm. This sounds generally good. I'm doubting how good this whole Workshop thing will work, though.

And..

January?

Really?

<_<

they already denied it because sony and microsoft wont allow it

Source? I was under the impression microsoft wasn't likely but Sony was more open to it, and that nothing had been made certain yet.

Well, that gave me some comfort.
Seems like they do intend to support the game with patches for a while, even rebalancing ones.
Wonder how the Workshop will turn out to be.

"Quest and balance issues are usually data, and those will start rolling in a large way with the January updates."

So ... I should find something else to play until January? Dawg.

Awesome news, Thanks Beth for a good long reply to your community and from what i can see, listening to your PC fan base primarily without alienating the console players.

This kind of response goes a long way so keep it up!!

Good, this is nice to hear. And see folks? It was absolutely painless. They are indeed working on patches and the CK, just as all of you expected. And the fact that they announced it won't make them work any faster than they already were yesterday :P

Don't bother trying to say that...

The people here think that they are robots that are programmed to fix everything.

No, some of us still can not play the game, at all...

Though I am glad they spoke, and said something about the CK (Construction Kit), it does nothing to aleviate or resolve the unplayability of the game.

We, I, am not here complaining because my dragons are just acting wierd, and crying a fit over it... We, I, are here, many of us, with non-working games. (Thus, our extended stay.)

I wish they just gave us a private, "members-only" area... so half our steam-venting and lack-of-game-time-comments can be unsearched by google... but, hey, that's another thing they need to fix. (As opposed to banning us, and leading us out, making us post issues in public forums, off-site... (Which is worse for them, when we do that.)

That's my final request... a "Venting forum", for those who need to vent... to keep the people crying about our crying, off the forums... LOL.

Alternatively you could try to enjoy Skyrim because quest updates and balance issues are pretty minor and easy enough to play around. I've gotten stuck on a couple quests, I just submitted the report and moved on to something else.

There's a lot to do in Skyrim other than the 2 or 3 quests that you might find sticking.

you do know that a forum like this consists of many different users with varying opinions? seeing someone post "bethesda stinks" in one thread and then reading a post from a different user who says "bethesda owns" is not necessarily tenacoius behaviour, isn't it?

I believe the word he/she was looking for was hypocrisy.

Most relevant paragraph for the forumgoers:

We all know this is a huge game, and everyone has a different experience. We’ll continue to do everything we can to make the game better and better for as many people as possible every day. We’ve also realized that with the millions upon millions of people playing Skyrim, we need to treat our updates with greater care. If we get too aggressive trying to fix a minor issue, we run a risk of breaking something larger in a game like this. To be safe, we are prioritizing code side fixes right now over data fixes. Quest and balance issues are usually data, and those will start rolling in a large way with the January updates.

Seems to be the closest we're getting to a "Yeah, we screwed up." Code is fragile, Beth! But you clearly know that, and I'm glad that this community is supported by such an awesome dev team (even if they need to work on QA a bit ).

Hey man I got a suggestion. Your game isn't working, why not go outside. Why does, game not working = extended stay on the forums. Put down the controller and go socialize. Crying on a forum is not going to make Beth fix it any faster. Going out, however, will make you forget about all this nonsense and before you know it, your issues will be fixed. Just a suggestion...

Tbh i dont think it was a timeframe thing, just that most of the upset from people was because of the speculation on things, (having to speculate). And now beth have addressed/confirmed some things for everyone that should calm some minds. Good stuff.

We didn't tell them to release the game on 11-11-11, they choose to do that, of their own free will...

What does a religious holiday have to do with fixing a game? Is this the christian crusades version of Skyrim?

Last time I checked, this game was a world-wide release. You do realize like only 2% of the world celebrates Christmas, right... The birth of Christ, who was actually born in the summer, no-where near my birthday, which is the day before Christmas... Now that is a holiday everyone should be celebrating... My birthday! LOL

Are you autistic or something? These guys just busted there asses putting out this amazing game. They deserve time off for the holidays. It doesn't matter if it's Christmas or Hanukkah or whatever. It's a time to be with your loved ones. This post seriously Makes me wonder about people in this world.
