Bethesda has spoken.

I used to adventure forth to the Bethesda forums and read the complaints from uninformed, belligerent, intolerant, selfish and very vocal people, but then I took an arrow to the knee.

We didn't tell them to release the game on 11-11-11, they choose to do that, of their own free will...What does a religious holiday have to do with fixing a game? Is this the christian crusades version of Skyrim?Last time I checked, this game was a world-wide release. You do realize like only 2% of the world celebrates Christmas, right... The birth of Christ, who was actually born in the summer, no-where near my birthday, which is the day before Christmas... Now that is a holiday everyone should be celebrating... My birthday! LOL

When did anyone say anything about religion? To most people, Christmas has barely anything to do with Christ, just about presents and food. And Bethesda is an American company, and they have lives. So what if it's a world-wide release?

Hey man I got a suggestion. Your game isn't working, why not go outside. Why does, game not working = extended stay on the forums. Put down the controller and go socialize. Crying on a forum is not going to make Beth fix it any faster. Going out, however, will make you forget about all this nonsense and before you know it, your issues will be fixed. Just a suggestion...

Yes, I will just go out-side and go to the movies... Oh wait... I am $60 short on funds...

No, I will go outside and get something to eat... Oh wait... I am $60 short on funds...

Oh, I know, I can go out and rake the leaves for a neighbor, earn more money, waste it on the next game that doesn't work... or eat... or watch ten movies, or rent 60 movies, or eat 20 value-meals.

I don't live in the forums... I come here when I would normally be playing the game I paid for, but can't. Why are you here if your game works fine... You have time to hang out here and complain about people with real problems, and play your game... I think you need to step outside.

.....but Sony was more open to it, and that nothing had been made certain yet.

And with this Workshop thing announced, as well as the fact Valve is now on the PS3 with Steam due to Portal............could be something there.

Cant tell if trolling.....or just dumb.

He means these people MAY for some unknown reason, want to spend some time with their families instead of working over the holidays?

Just a thought.

Good news, pretty much what was expected. Bummed that the CK is in Jan, now I gotta figure out what to do over the holiday break. Uploading and downloading mods directly through Steam sounds interesting. I wonder how that will affect the Nexus though.

I am here because it's a slow day at work. If you can't afford to do anything because you spent your last $60 on a video game, I suggest you reevaluate your priorities.

Yeah I guess most people don't even know that Christmas originally had nothing to do with Christianity. I've always celebrated it and Im not religious at all.

Nope, nothing there. Mods, besides tiny ones like retextures, will never work on consoles. It's a fact.

Yeah I was kinda wondering about that, but have no hard facts to provide so I left it as was read. (For someone else, like you, to discredit or validate it.)

More than acceptable. I am sated by the response and look forward to the incremental fix next week, and the big update in January.

Thank you, Beth.

Hmm.. I don't know about that. These new consoles are really nothing more than stripped down PCs. My guess would be that the texture mods and such would be the ones that WOULDN'T work, simply because of the CPU and RAM limitations. I don't see any reason why the rest couldn't work, so long as they didn't need things like the script extender or such.

"After the holidays, we’ll continue to release regular updates for the game — through full title updates, as well as incremental “gameplay updates” to fix whatever issues come up along with rebalancing portions of the game for difficulty or exploits. "

Well the apologists can now stop saying "xploits and imbalance are fine lern 2 play111"

For those of you who are insulting to us with technical issues, I hope you re-consider your point of view. I do agree that insulting posts and inflammatory comments are not helpful, but if you've bought a product you must surely agree that the said product should not be broken in significant ways. If I buy an oven, even if only one of the burners is out, I would return it or demand that it be immediately fixed as the product came faulty from the manufacturer. I would expect the said fix to occur within a reasonable amount of time, as well. Should I have to wait a month for my faulty oven to work properly?

Skyrim is a product like any other, the main difference being that instead of a physical item, you receive an interactive application. While acknowledging the complexity of the said application is important, and thus customers must be somewhat more patient with the time it takes them to fix the problem, there is no reason why there shouldn't be complaints, especially since, when my product was supposedly fixed, it was "returned" to me with even more problems than before. I can't play my game because I built my character around blocking and magical resistance.

The most ridiculous aspect of this whole fiasco is that the mod community has fixed the resistance issue already for the PC. Bathesda does need to take steps and rectify their "fix" immediately, as it seemingly can be done within a reasonable time frame. It is not my fault as the consumer that the patch has broken my game, and thus I deserve as quick a fix as possible.

Are you autistic or something? These guys just busted there asses putting out this amazing game. They deserve time off for the holidays. It doesn't matter if it's Christmas or Hanukkah or whatever. It's a time to be with your loved ones. This post seriously Makes me wonder about people in this world.

So everyone in the world should stop working for a month, and just chill with family that they didn't get enough of all year long... While they spend the money I just gave them on working gifts for thier loved-ones, while my family has to deal with me being agitated from loosing $60 on something I purchased, which doesn't work, months ago. Something I would have gotten for others, as a gift, had it worked...

Wow, two holiday events of conflicting religeons, celebrated at the same time. (Jews don't believe Jesus has come yet, and Christians celebrate his birthday on the day of thier holiday, even though he wasn't born in winter.) What is that a holiday of again? What does that have to do with family, and not-working... Last time I checked, people work on holidays and up to holidays.

Okay, no new textures or meshes, and no script extenders.

Then what's the point? <_< Theres nothing to be gained.

January isn't great but isn't so bad. At least pressured modders will be able to fully appreciate the game...

What does incremental update mean?

I'm thinking it means they want to update and patch a bit at a time because then it would be easier to catch if something went wrong and figure out where the problem is. A huge update could make it harder to find.

I keep remembering a developer talking about how a little change can have far-reaching effects. He mentioned changing the weight of a melon and how it might then tip over a cart and then the melons would roll down a hill and cause more problems. It's all so interconnected and such a huge world. There's a relation between everything.

Wow man I'm sorry you are so jaded that you don't see the importance of the holidays. There's also new years eve. All I'm saying is these guys worked three long years to put out this incredible game. Give them a break.
