I want my Dovahkiin to sport a nice gruffy, dragon-butt-kicking beard. There hasn't been any good screenshots of the PC or an NPC wearing a beard. Why must Bethesda hold out on us?

I think we'll see the curtain pulled back on NPC's around E3. Up close shots, beards, beast races, and the new dialogue system.

The first seems the same 'painted' beard you can have in Oblivion. The second one is concept art.

Well, he has facial hair, and it's better than Oblivion's "beards", because it actually looks like facial hair, as opposed to just having a dirty face, but I think people are asking for a bit more. However, I expect we'll see that, for two reasons, first, Fallout 3 could do actual beards, so it seems clear that Bethesda figured out how to get them to work with the facegen, so I see no reason why they'd suddenly decide not to do them in Skyrim, second, can you imagine Skyrim WITHOUT beards? Not only is it the home of the Nords, but it has people called Greybeards, and we know they'll appear in Skyrim. Don't you think having people called Graybeards and having not one of them have a beard would be pretty strange? Therefore, I think that Bethesda paid special attention to including proper beards. Now, we may not have seen the fruits of this yet, but we haven't seen a lot of things, that doesn't mean they're not in the game.

There have been beards in most screenshots that have included characters. The guy in the trailer also had a beard. I really don't see how you've missed all of them thus-far...

All we've seen so far is bum fluff.

There hasn't been any epic, swaying in the wind(although probably not) beards, I think is the OP's point.

I'm confident they'll be in. Unless there's gonna be a book in the game explaining that after Morrowind, Sheogorath and all the other Daedric Princes got together and used their combined power to make it so no mortal could ever grow a beard again.

I hope beards will be better than in dragon age. Dragon age beards svcks.
