"Bethesda's latest potential masterpiece."

Post » Fri Oct 09, 2009 5:16 pm

Where do you think I should get my "Skyrim 11-11-11" tattoo? What's most stylish -- across my chest, or on my forehead?

Shave your head and put it on your scalp, so when you start balding ,and your with you grandkids (or kids) they'll be like wtf is that?

Do you guys think he's talking about the plot or the game in general when he says, "And wait until you see what this game is all about! Mind...blown..." ???

Why not both?

And realists are going to focus on the fact that of course the people developing a game are going to call it mind blowing, and video game "journalism" more often than not amounts to an advertisemant for the game in article form.

And expressionists and going to focus on how all of that makes them feel.

Do you guys think he's talking about the plot or the game in general when he says, "And wait until you see what this game is all about! Mind...blown..." ???

He most likely is referring to the game's plot, but "all about" could also just mean the gameplay in general. Like the gameplay in Morrowind is "all about" freedom, or the gameplay in Daggerfall is "all about" being part of a huge world.

I sure hope

doesn't lose his job for divulging information outside of the industry and possibly violating NDA"

He didn't really divulge any info... He's one of the two top editors at America's most premier gaming mag... I think he knows what he's doing...

Well, unless I know what type of gamer that dude is - and how he likes his entertainment in general - I'd take this with a grain of salt.

I'm more impressed by "mind = blown" than by "potential masterpiece." It gives me hope for some really bat[censored], mythological beast of a storyline :D

Same here. I really hope that's what he means. I can't wait for this game informer issue...

Yea, I'm curious as to what he was referring to as well. Although I guess it's good news any way you slice it.

Yeah, AFAIK he's only saying that Skyrim is awesome in his opinion, and that's not really any info, IMO.

...then why did you remove his name when you quoted me?

Actually, he sounded like he was just reiterating what their (legally) published piece says...which is that they've seen it, and it's great. You just dropped his name a bunch...like a wiki leak.

I'll carve it into the back of my skull so it won't disappear before my bones turn to dust

There's a one hour drive to the nearest gamestop from here and I'm not sure they even get GI in Norway.... but damn, I'd walk there through a blizzard to get that magazine.

How hyped do you guys think Skyrim is getting now? Is it only us here at the forums who are freaking out now, or are gamers across the globe starting to froth at the mouth at the thought of Skyrim too? I'm betting that after the GI reveal, there won't be a place on the internet that hasn't got a link to a Skyrim video.

and why the hell don't we have a smiley face hugging a TES plaque !?

I'm stupidly excited to read that magazine. Does anyone know if the Australian Game Informer will have the same Skyrim exclusive?

Yeah, you know how seemingly every game out there claims it's "genre-defining"? Skyrim is going to be one of those games that actually does that. I'm seriously not sure what I'm going to do with myself over the course of the next 2+ weeks. Christmas what?

It should. The Australian GI is typically just the US version with a few region specific bits of info/commentary added in.
