"Bethesda's latest potential masterpiece."

It should. The Australian GI is typically just the US version with a few region specific bits of info/commentary added in.

Thanks! I was hoping that was the case, but I've never had a reason to buy it before so I wasn't sure.

Wait, is the Skyrim(February) issue of GI only available in January for subscribers? Or will it is also be available in stores, like GameStop, in January?

It will definitely be available in stores, just maybe not on the same day that subscribers get their copies. It depends on where you are geographically.

Yeah, you know how seemingly every game out there claims it's "genre-defining"? Skyrim is going to be one of those games that actually does that. I'm seriously not sure what I'm going to do with myself over the course of the next 2+ weeks. Christmas what?

This.
What I want to do, sit in front of the magazine rack at my local supermarket for 3 weeks, until GI arrives. And if they don't have it :flamethrower:

I'm more excited for early Jan than I am for Christmas...

This, also.

So, do GI mags go on sale on the day the cover is shown?

It will be in stores in January, but a few days after subscribers get it. I suggest calling your local Gamestop every single day after January 6th to see when the new issue will be on sale there.

This made me pretty excited, although it shouldn't really have done so because of course the guy who runs the magazine advertising an upcoming game will say things like that to people. Mind = blown is what gets me though, it's not the kind of thing you'd normally say about something just because it's great.

I think magazines ship to subscribers the day or the day after the cover is revealed, and then are available for in-store purchase like a week or so after.

That would have been funny if they would have released Oblivion on June 6, 2006....and everybody would have gotten 6-6-6 tattoos.

Only Bethesda could pull off a scenario like this where it would be just as profitable to create a game about a game's impending release than about the actual game itself. :)

Nobody knows what "masterpiece" means anymore. Sigh.

But: the spirit of the statement is definitely exciting. :)

Meh. I'm not really hyped right now because hype always equals disappointment.

Still can't wait to read February's GI.

You mean a game magazine is hyping a piece that might induce people to buy it?! Oh. My god. ZOMG!
