I think they should make at least 10 to 15 for Skyrim. 8 is so yesteryear.

You mean DLC? Heck no. Games companies shouldn't be effectively doubling the price of their product with DLC. It's evil.

I'd prefer one or two solid expansion packs. You know, how it used to be?

This. Instead of charging for all that DLC, they should, you know, release it with the vanilla game. The game won't be out for another year, and you're already asking for DLC? Seriously...

EDIT: And besides. Mods.

One thing I would want to is for Bethesda to re-make the most successful mods that PC players come up with and make them PS3 and XBOX360 dlc from the store. These could be taken from a mod-site where the makers of the mods agree to letting Bethesda to re-make them so the ps3 and xbox360 players would get more content that has been imposible to get so far.

Yessss. Quality over quantity, yah? The expansions are usually just as much fun as the original.

Actually, funny thing is, the modders don't have to agree to anything. gamesas already owns content generated with the construction set!

That wouldn't work. If Bethesda charged for them, that would be unfair as us PC users got them for free. If they were released for free, it would be a waste of time and resources for Bethesda. Besides, so many mods rely on things that just wouldn't be possible on consoles.

Copyright issues spring to mind, but that would be pretty cool.
I'd imagine a pretty big compliment to the chosen modders also.

Exactly. I can't be the only one who enjoyed Solstheim as much as Vvardenfell or the Shivering Isles as much as Cyrodiil...

Copyright is only really a problem if the modder's work relies on some custom mesh or texture, but any Construction set based content (stats, quest stages, locations) are technically gamesas's property.

Well, the UW (college) I know gets rights to discoveries of the students, while using UW property. But then Beth would have to include that in the CS [copyright agreement].

Thats really about all I meant with 'issues'.

Beth includes it in the End user's license agreement for the CS.

Thinking that there won't be DLC is fooling yourselves, DLC has come to stay methinks and we'll probably get a lot. As long as it's not houses it's fine by me xD

No one said there won't be DLC, we've said there SHOULDN'T be DLC. It's a moral issue.

Then again, I'd rather they focus on improving the game mechanics/graphics/features, etc. In the time that they have to develop the game, then add DLC additions when they have more time to just make the game bigger.

Who wouldn't? But it's been kind of confirmed that there are going to be DLCs instead.

They won't, because Shivering Isles didn't sell enough. And it's easier and costs less for them to make and sell DLCs.

You know this doesn't make any sense right? The game has to be released eventually. After it comes out, the company continues to work on it. Why not release the work that they continue to do? Claiming that any DLC should be in the vanilla game is circular. DLC is, by definition, the content that they make after the vanilla version is already finished. The alternative, if you really want it your way, would be for the company to stop working on game content altogether once they have released the vanilla version. No thanks.

And the war about expansions over DLC is meaningless, to me. I'm happy to pay a few extra dollars for something like KoTN. I thought that was a blast, better than any mod. I feel the same about the unique residences and about Mehrune's Razor. I was just as happy to buy those as I was to buy Shivering Isles.

Also, just because they release their little ideas as DLC, that doesn't mean expansion packs are dead, guys. Expansions are alive and well and aren't going anywhere. The arrival of DLC on the scene has not killed or removed anything from the old gaming experience. It has only added to it.

DLC is exactly this: all the little ideas that developers used to wish they could implement but couldn't finish before release. In the past, they had no way to get that content to users in a cost effective way. Now we get those little ideas and we don't have to wait for the next game anymore.

Stop the hate against DLC. It doesn't hurt you.

Exactly my views on it. Heck, I'd still be chucking away money to Bethesda if they were still make expansions, and dlc's for Oblivion and Morrowind.
