I hope Skyrim will follow in the path of rage....I saw it played on both xbox and the ps3 at my local game store (friend is the manager there) It looks identical on both systems and is beautiful...

do you think that Skyrim will run smoothly? Do these guys over at ID help out the bethesda developers? do you guys think John Carmack gave some tips to the guys/girls over at Bethesda? clearly the guys over at ID know what there are doing

Rage isn't really a Bethesda game. It's being produced by Bethesda.

Saying Rage is a Bethesda game is like saying Halo is a Microsoft game--when it was made by Bungie, or Black Ops is an Activision game--when it was made by Treyarch.

id Software definitely nailed it with Rage.
And Bethesda will nail it with Skyrim.
I also think Turn 10 will nail it with Forza 4 and DICE will nail it with Battlefield 3 (despite some of the BETA issues).

I'm not so sure about Infinity Ward & Sledgehammer Games' Modern Warfare 3 ... you can only recycle the same formula and engine so many times before it starts to just feel like a $60 map pack.

Not worried, i played the beta and next update in 1 day fixes the major issues, ranging from ground glitching - Squad stuff. Its a Beta too... I played BFBC2 Beta and it was glitchy, but they fixed that bad problems, and constantly patched over the next year fixing minor ones, it runs great now and so will BF3, can't wait 25 more days!

I really hope not.

Rage is just another shooter with little substance and a chapter/level/zone world design that's repetitious. TES not so much. Will it perform as well? Probably not; too many complex things going on in an open world.
