So all the great info on these forums will simply be lost? That's a shame... Not bothered about username though as I want to change that anyway

IIRC, the forums will still be available for access, you just won't be able to post on them anymore. The changeover won't happen overnight. It'll take some time for a complete change.

All of the info from 2000 to 2009 has already been lost. Bethesda periodically purges inactive threads (and accounts). So eventually all of the info will be lost whether we move to a new domain or not.

Don't fool yourself, paid mods are the future of modding and this time they won't give up.

I like those forums, so why bothering through all the hassle to make a new one.

I mean, what's wrong with those forums anyway? :P

Well, we wouldn′t lose our accounts as long as we stay active.

Paid mods are not the future of modding at all.

PC gamers are still commenting on this 9 months later.

I don't see Bethesda Softworks making it happen on Bethesda.net. I just don't see it happening for video games published by ZeniMax Media Inc. and Bethesda Softworks ever. Unless they turn huge total conversion type mods like how VALVe did Counter-Strike for Half-Life into a fully fledged retail standalone retail video game. Or Tripwire interactive did Red Orchestra Osfront 41-45 from a Unreal Tournament 2004 mod into a fully fledged retail standalone priced video game.

They did it once, they'll do it for the future games.

It is going to happen again and I think it will be for Fallout 4.

I still don't believe it will ever happen.

Like ladyonthemoon said. We will see soon what happens, maybe in the next month or two or three months?

Oi. The topic was Bethesda.net and the possibiiity of new forums sometime soonish.

Stop derailing - I know some of you have a pet hobbyhorse with the paid modding stuff, but this is not that thread. Thanks.

What is the difference? Are you talking actual posts or post counts? I guess it doesn't matter because we are loosing both. I am at half the post count. I was around 8000ish and now I am half. Bethesda deletes our old posts as well so can't read those either.

So to me a new forum is no different from what we have here. Hopefully it would be better so we could post pics instead of just links to pic and be like you know 2016 and current. :P

That won′t happen, they′ve basically said that. And it′s not because of an outdated forum at all. Having folk post pics would cause the pages to load slowly for some, especially if everyone starts doing it. Plus it would make it all feel cluttered.

Yeah, I was at "Patriarch" and well on my way to the "Archpatriarch" post count. When they did their recent housekeeping I dropped a rung to "Master" because a lot of my posts were pretty old. Oh, well.

Yep, IP.Board is more than capable of allowing pictures in posts. It's a modern, full-featured forum platform. Bethesda just has features turned off per their forum policies.

I have removed the word "everything" and replaced it with "all of the info" just for you.

There was no recent housecleaning. Every post we've written since September, 2009 is still here. What changed is that someone severely messed up the forum's ability to keep track of our posts when they added the Fallout 4 General Discussion forum in early June. Only the numbers displayed under our avatars have changed, not the number of posts themselves.

No, what they did was simply ran a post recount. What that does is it removes the amount of posts from your total that correspond to posts either since deleted or no longer in a forum in which posts count towards the total. This is something that should be done periodically to ensure that all statistics are as accurate as possible.

Leydenne, apologies for continuing the off-topic discussion.

there are several reasons we can't post images on here, and the forums software isn't one of them.. no images cuts down on load time, and it prevents people from setting up spam bots posting NSFW images..

Still think it's kinda stupid we're getting a new forum, these forums are fine the way they are and we should just keep this one.

it wouldn't be that difficult to just change this forums domain name over to bethesda.net, so the fact they seem to be starting a new one from scratch makes me think they are trying to integrate it with something..
