Thanks for the update
As sad as I am to be losing this place, knowing that we'll have dibs on our usernames makes me feel better about things.

Forgive me if I've perseveratively skipped over anyone else asking this, but I'm assuming that post count won't be transferring as well? Not that it matters much, in my case, but I was just wondering.
Lol, that's right. Never too late to be a veteran once again. ^^ Although, there's a workaround by just adding your join date and even the post count in your signature. ^^ Like the Buddha used to say, "There's a cure for suffering, look for it." ^^
No posts or content will be ported over.
Well I have backup names in case someone tries to steal mine. I doubt anyone here knows me well enough to judge my posts anyway. It's unfortunate that I'll never reach master though.
i will probably try and keep this username, since this is what the community knows me as at this point.. but it wouldn't be a big loss if i couldn't to be honest, I don't even remember registering with this username at all to be honest, but when i tried to register one day it said I already had an account, that apparently went by this username.. maybe i made it while intoxicated, who knows
I was wondering what is intended by "archiving" a forum. Will the current links to threads stay the same or will they all be replaced?
The last time they did this, we could read the old forums as always but we could not make any new posts there. They left those old forums up for a year or two and then took them off-line permanently. That happened back in 2005, when we moved to these forums.
I imagine they plan to do something similar this time too.
So, we're going to lose all the Creation Kit threads, all the knowledge they content... This is bad, very bad.
They will continue to exist in read-only form. The only question is: for how long? That, I don't know.
worse comes to worse, some external site will probabaly archive most of it... and while not ideal, there is always stuff like the wayback machine and other internet archiving sites which will likely archive at least a small bit of content
