Thought they were putting some ~additional~ functionality to the PipBoy, but if it's just the PipBoy ~edition~ of the game, I can live without that just fine. I am surprised, though, that they would do such a thing, as I was under the impression that the factory simply could not make any more. I don't mind collector's editions, but this one has nothing that particularly interests me.

It's to late baby now it to late
I think the majority of people have already preordered the game
I agree with Sorpaijen that the pip boy edition is of no interest to me

I'm sure there will be some people who are pleased at this news,

though it appears to be US only.

The link seems to be taking orders right now,

though how long stock remains is another matter.

I thought Bethesda said no more would be made. Also it says only available to ship to the continental U.S.

Quite possibly they are releasing cancelled orders. Doubt they have made any more units.

Well considering my phone is an old flip phone, it certainly doesn't interest me.

Now if they would just give us a bobble-head or something I would have pre-ordered a long time ago. I have no use for a Perk Chart since when I need it in game it's there anyway. But a bobble-head I could set on my desk and watch him nod while I work.

Better yet, a set of 7 bobbleheads (one for each SPECIAL) and a display stand

Lol, yeah what happened to "The factory simply can't produce more!" Remember that guy who made a whole thread dedicated to the hope that no more would be made because he bought an overpriced one on Ebay? lol

I just need the darn game, come on already!

Have they said what phones are compatible with the Pip Boy? I know any large screen phones (Phablets and such) will not be compatible but other than that?

When the second batch happened, I was too late.

I took too long registering at the Store this Afternoon.

I'd believe the factory situation is still the case. Besides re-allocating cancelled orders, they might have also weeded out some orders that broke their quantity limits.

The scalpers are having a field day with this one, to be sure. Gamers ripping off their fellow gamers, something is really wrong with that.

The system needs to change, I think. While there are disadvantages to every system, I'd favor a system where Collector's Edition pre-orders are only accepted through the publisher's website - no Amazon, no game stores. That way, first of all the publisher can start the pre-orders more in advance to figure out the quantity they actually need to meet demand, and secondly, they can attempt to more strictly control quantity per person. The end result is that all fans who wanted one are happy, the scalpers are stopped dead in their tracks, and the publisher/developer make more money (instead of the scalpers making money). It's win-win all around.

Good news for those who care. I'm fine with the standard edition.

Stupid "Only available to ship to the continental US". It is pure discrimination to non-Americans.

The process of immigrating to America is far too annoying and costly. Besides by the time I get a place in America, Fallout 4 will already be out. You have to be very lucky or spend $430 to get it when it only costs about $150 CAD.

You have a completely backwards idea of how products get put on Retail shelves.... The producer / publisher does not dictate terms or product sizes / versions to the Retailer (quantities and delivery dates can be a delicate juggling act between the two parties). You would be amazed at how much power large retailers have the lowest level of product development, manufacture and marketing. You can't tell your 10 largest customers that they can't have the most desirable version of a product....just not gonna happen.

I'm sure I would be amazed at the power retailers have. That doesn't mean that the system doesn't need to change, though. It's how we got into the whole retailer exclusives situation, which is a disaster for fans for many games.

Wolfenstein: The New Order's Collector's Edition was only sold through Bethesda's store, I believe - although it was an interesting case, as it didn't include the game.

Here's one that does include the game though: the Collector's Edition of Rise of the Tomb Raider is ONLY available, worldwide, through Square-Enix's online store or the Tomb Raider online store.

So the idea is not without precedent.
