Bethesda please do something with Marriage.

Hmm, half the thread sniped me. Oh well. Essentially, I'm not so keen on permanent companions. They get tedious and even when they fight with you they're no fun with stealth characters.

Why don't you guys make a separate thread about "We want six in Skyrim" instead of trolling this one which is far away from what's in your heads?

I still think it's better than Fable's system, where the relationship actually degrades if you're gone too long. At least I will always have someone to come home too.

Yes, the feature is a bit simple and could use a lot more dialog (And that's really all I ask, more stuff for them to say).

Honestly, this whole marriage concept is kinda ridiculous. The whole thought of getting married in a virtual world makes me feel lame and desprate for a relationship. I can't believe you guys want to hug kiss and sleep with something that is not real. However Implementing marriage is not totally off in videogames like skyrim, But There are limitations on how much sixual themes game developers can implement into a videogame without taking heavy flak from the community. You guy's have to realize you aren't the only one's playing videogames. If rated M games where only purchased by advltS the number of sales bethesda earned would free fall. Not all parent's blindly buy games for their kids, and the ones who do still have some sense of resposibility won't let their kids play games with very heavy sixual themes, gore, and sadistic acts. In fact, I can't remember any game that had very inappropiate behavior.(game's rated A).

I expect alot of :flamethrower: for my views but this is my opinion.

Let's murder all those morally gray bandits, but addressing that all our RPG characters are consistently abstinent is necessary? I wager my characters have six regardless if there's a feature for it or not.

I see this logical fallacy on the internet all the time. There's nothing "gross" about any of this. It's all in a fantasy world.

Magic isn't real. Dragons aren't real. Eh.
I happen to like the marriage thing, and would like to see it more expanded, but really as long as Bethesda keeps these games moddable, I'll be happy. Someone will come up with something you like that they didn't have the time or desire to add and you can have your own personal gameplay.

Cheers to Bethesda and Modders alike. They made previous games even better and this game will be no different.

Of course, I think like this because I only play these types of games on a PC. ;)

Sooo if virtual marriages make you feel desperate and lame, what is your assessment of your need to be a superhero slaying dragons in a virtual world? What kinds of desperate do you have according to that need?

lmfao @ people who mix games and real life.

Marriage is an immersion feature in Skyrim.
Immersion is something you guys said you wanted us to have, which I am very grateful for. But marriage is so pointless and irritating, I just don't see a need for it.

The women you can marry are so few. I don't understand why you couldn't add nearly every woman. Hroki, Idgrod the younger, etc. Why are they unavailable.
The essence of marriage is so dull. Go home, she says hi, ask her for food or for money. Done. There is nothing else to do with her. Couldn't marriage have a few more features to it?

You have created an AMAZING game. This is literally the best game I have ever played. But the marriage feature is so pointless, and I really hope you fix it and add on to it.

Hey it ain't pointless , my sugar mama gives me thousands of gold on a daily basis (100G Per In Game day averaging to thousands per real life day) ... and is another vendor to sell my crap to

Honestly all marriage partners are pretty much all the same, with the same dialog or should I say lack of it, and it's all recycled. Much like your brain dead companions I'd rather have a choice between 5 intrusting companions with dialog and opinions on my decisions I've made than 20 brain dead pack mules.

In this case I'd stress they should of went with quality instead of quantity, Bio-Ware has this formula down to a pat Robot NPC followers are no fun.

FYI I think the whole "Amulet of Mar" thing was stupid. It's almost like they put it in and decided to do it so badly, that no one would ask for it again. Kinda like what you did to your mother when she asked you to wash the dishes when you were 12.

Ha! Made me choke!
Yeah, it may not be deceloped well but I may try it.
How much cash do you get? Is It a per day thing? Cumulative? Can you trade with her and make more money?
So it is what it is. I think I will just pick a trainer I want and let her open a shop.
Put her in a house somewhere and just stop in when I want some ( training and $$$$ that is)
I will get an amiable eye candy follower and keep her somewhere else to satisfy my other needs. (watch my back and haul my stuff, perhaps some entertaining dialogue)

I have 30+k gold and a chest full of stuff and dragon bones and scales.
Why on earth would i need 100g or another shop?!
And even more so why would it make any sense to trade with your wife?!

Hey i can wipe clean every town in Skyrim with my mage but oh gosh i can't do without 100g and a wife shop lol

Even in Fable you could sleep with your wife and have children. I'm not asking for pormo. A blank screen with some funny noises would have sufficed. And you know, kissing the wife... people in Skyrim, or Tamriel in general apparently still haven't discovered how to kiss each other.

Dunno, that doesn't really make a whole lot of sense to me. I'd personally rather they remove the feature all together, but I can understand where people are coming from.

If a feature is worth putting into a game, it's worth doing well. Their point of marriage being pointless robot npc is completely valid. Keep in mind, most of these people are normal advlts playing a video game. They understand advlt themes, relationships and so on, and they're not seeking a "replacement", just immersion. (Different strokes for different folks.) The fact is that this game shouldn't be marketed towards or made for anyone other than individuals of age to buy it. What's the worst that happens if a pre-teen plays the game, gets married and peck the cheek of their character's spouse after bringing him or her flowers?

I mean, really?

Let's call this what it really is. It's an incomplete feature they didn't get the time to finish, or chose not to finish.

They already did fade to black six scenes in Fallout NV with prosttutes, but somehow six in marriage is more controversial or inappropriate? I find logic lacking in that conclusion.

Once again, if it's worth doing, it's worth doing right.

I just want to [censored].

You're telling me in this mid evil time where peoples heads are being chopped off no one will have six with me unless I wear some stupid amulet and marry them first? Man I knew my character was ugly, but I didn't think he hit every branch on the way down.

I really don't get the whole showing the whole head chopping violence, but sugar coating the grittiness of six issues it's rated M for a reason so you wouldn't have to sugar coat anything. The setting suggest it should be more like the "Witcher 2" where you have prosttutes and people being [censored] and tortured and that still was only rated M.

Sounds better than real life marriage. Come home, she asks you for money and you end up eating a TV dinner which provides no bonuses to anything but gas and indigestion.

I'd rather have only 2 or 3 eligible characters, but way more developed characters, instead of 50 bland and empty characters that you really don't care about.

I also don't care about "marriage" per se. Romance is what people want in a story (marriage or not). Even in real life, marriage is overrated, so why would you want that in a game? Specially after taking out the reasons that makes people get married like love and six.

The only use for this feature is for people that get deep in the role-playing part of it, if you're willing to fill a lot of blanks.
