Bethesda: a request- more melee weapons

Post » Sat Mar 05, 2016 12:23 am

I'd love to see Bethesda add more melee weapons (and melee weapon in-game craftable mods) into the game in the DLC.

Right now I have every kind of melee weapon, even the unique ones, and I'd love to see some more variety with what I'm using and the mods I attach to them.

It would be pretty simple to do (compared to adding new guns)....

I'm getting kind of bored with the current melee weapons and lack of craftable mods for them. Please?

Eg:

-a larger variety of knives and swords types/shapes

-cattle prod

-crowbar

-butcher's knife/cleaver

-auto axe/concrete saw

-chainsaw??

-golf club

-shovel

-hammer

-a unique police baton

-axe

-hatchet

-etc etc

A lot of these, if not all of them were already in fallout 3 and/or new Vegas and I'd love to see them in fallout 4 in one way or another. Just an example of what we're missing vs. previous fallout games.

Some more variability/creativity would be nice, even beyond what's already been done in previous versions of fallout!

I see a much greater need for more unarmed weapons.

I mean, sure, pour in a few more melee weapons if you want, but as the ratio is right now, the focus should clearly be on unarmed weapons.

I just want a butcher's cleaver or kitchen knife just to decorate my kitchen properly. Weird having a cutting board but no knife.

I completely agree actually. More "punching" weapons. I guess fallout categorizes them as unarmed.

Either way, right now the current unarmed weapon selection is so small that it makes the unarmed perks kind of useless, unless you're content using the same punching glove for hours on end.

Along that idea, assuming we are getting cage matches...we should get some boxing clothes and head gear, perhaps.

When I'm wearing power armor, I often find myself disatsified with melee weapons as they look absolutely puny in my hands. What I want to see is weaponry worthy of Power Armor. A Ripper the size of the board weapon, how about it?

This. I'm surprised making a chainsaw sword out of the Ripper wasn't a weapon modification.

What's bugged with shiskebob?

We need more melee/unarmed weapon mods as well. It's ridiculous how limited the crafting is for them.

I don't use power armor ever so I can't comment on that aspect but I could imagine how small a sword would look...

huge melee weapons plus power armor I imagine would be overpowered as hell(?). Not a bad point though for those who like power armor.

But you could argue the same for the pistols and rifles in power armor too. They look small because power armor is big. It already limits your field of view so I can't imagine playing in first person with a gigantic sword obstructing my view while in a power armor helmet haha

IIRC (and I don't know if it has been patched or not) it wasn't having its damage calculated properly. Something about the energy portion I believe.
