Bethesda Softworks E3 2016 Conference Discussion #2

Post » Tue Jun 07, 2016 3:31 pm

Bethesda Softworks E3 2016 conference starts on Sunday June 12th, 2016 at 7:00PM PST. What video games do you think they will reveal?

Prey 2? Or Prey reboot?

Wolfenstein 2?

The Evil Within 2?

Quake V?

RAGE 2?

Wet 2?

Some new Intellectual Property (IP)? Maybe 2 new ones instead of one?

The Elder Scrolls VI? (Highly unlikely)

And of course they will be talking about.

Dishonored 2

The Elder Scrolls Online expansion pack

Maybe more Fallout 4 DLC's and expansion packs and DOOM (2016) DLC's.

I have no idea. Like you, I expect they will show Dishonored2 (perhaps even as the highlight but I'm not so sure), Fallout4 and Doom DLC, and ESO. Beyond those, it could be anything or nothing but I really don't think they would spend the resources on a big event for just those games.

I'm still wondering why Bethesda Softworks doesn't reboot Wayne Gretzky and Gridiron or try to work with gog.com to get them working on modern Operating Systems (OS') and sell them.

Or get license agreements from James Cameron or Gale Ann Hurd or whoever is in charge of the Terminator licenses to make the classic old Terminator video games to work on modern Operating Systems (OS').

I'm certain Dishonored 2 is going to be a highlight, with an extensive gameplay demo. They've already been showing a demo to the press. As the highlight? I dunno. There's got to be some kind of surprise coming. Only one new AAA game definitely seems like a small show, but maybe they're not trying to match their last one.

Yeah exactly. I just don't think they would devote resources to a big show at all (whether it be the same size or smaller than last year's) if they didn't have something good to show from their flagship studio. I admit, I could be very wrong about this.

Just looked up where it's being held, it's not the same place as last year (the Oscars place). It's something called http://www.lahangar.com/la-hangar-studios-gallery.html, I guess the show will be held http://www.lahangar.com/img_external/gallery/15-la-hangar-studio-a.jpg? So maybe not quite as grand an event as last year? Or maybe they're just trying to save money.

Well it certainly is large! Yes, it does look less grand than last year's so definitely saving some money there, I'd say. Maybe the fact that it's being held in a hangar is a clue? Or maybe it's the only thing big enough they could find for their budget?

If that hangar is the place where they are holding their conference, while it doesn't look as expensive as their E3 2015 conference show, renting hangars and especially ones that big I don't think comes cheap at all.

And Bethesda Softworks has to be holding this conference not for their smaller AAA video games like Dishonored or Wolfenstein 2 or whatever is coming, but they have to be surprising us with a surprise from their heavy hitting studio and that is their Bethesda Game Studios Maryland.

Dishonored from 2012 while it sold I think like 4 million copies? Is not as big as selling 10+ million copies like the The Elder Scrolls video games and Fallout video games and possibly a new Intellectual Property (IP) developed by Bethesda Game Studios.

This may be the year where Todd Howard talks about doing new things and taking the risks to see what works and what doesn't work.

I really don't think anything The Elder Scrolls VI related will be shown off at all, some Fallout 4 DLC's and expansion packs and something new.

Everyone seems to have forgotten that Battlecry is supposed to be out this year ;)

I would love to see something really surprising. Like a new Arx Fatalis.

And hopefully lots of gameplay for Dishonored 2.

Wait BattleCry is releasing this year?

Last I read was in uh December 2015 that the gameplay mechanics weren't feeling right and that they would redo BattleCry.

I read something wrong didn't I?

I did a search and couldn't find any sales numbers on Dishonored, only that it "far exceeded expectations" according to Bethesda.

Most people seem to be of the assumption that Dishonored 2 is this year's Fallout 4 announcement thing where it's the star of the show and the last thing covered. I think it's likely that the big thing is a reveal of a new unannounced game, though, and there's likely going to be a bunch of other reveals like Doom DLC and content updates (particularly for Snapmap), ESO expansion(s), Fallout 4 DLC, etc spread throughout.

It should be noted that Redguard and Starfield are possible games that might get announced as well, although it's possible they are both BGS projects (it is easy to suspect BGS as the developers of both titles after all considering the complete lack of rumor mills surrounding the trademarks), so they may remain unannounced for another year or two (or more!). Skyrim for Xbox One and PS4 is speculated as a possible announcement as well. I don't know if that's too likely to happen, though.

I think Battlecry is supposed to be free-to-play, but maybe they're shifting away from that at this point in time. I think Battlecry is more likely to be talked about at E3 than TES Legends (though the latter may get mentioned one way or another, and if talked about at all it would likely involve announcing a release date or something).

I think 5.5 million is a minimum, Steamspy says Steam has 2.4 million owners while VGChartz says 1.54 million on PS3 and 1.72 million on X360.

The Elder Scrolls V : Skyrim Remastered for consoles with Mod support.

I need this. Hopefully, it won't crash anymore too.

I'd be happy with just a simple port of Skyrim, Morrowind, and Oblivion!

Looking at Ballower's list made me realize that I had forgotten just how many games Bethesda has under its belt.

I'm sure we'll hear an announcement of a new AAA game from BGS. Dishonored 2 isn't big enough to headline an E3 press-conference, especially since everyone knows it's coming.

So I expect either a new IP from BGS or a short teaser trailer of TES 6(which will be huge news, because few expect it).
