Bethesda Softworks E3 2016 conference?

Post » Wed Feb 03, 2016 10:34 pm

Interesting after E3 2015 Pete Hines said he doesn't think he will make another conference for E3.

Could he of changed his mind? Could Bethesda Softworks E3 2016 conference of been a success?

Excuse me, may I just please tell you that it should be: Could he HAVE changed his mind? :)

Anyway, I guess Beth got a taste of what it feels like to showcase games on E3 and love it now! I hope they will transmit it over Twitch again!

And here's what Pete Hines said on Twitter, in reply to someone said they thought Beth wouldn't do anymore showcases.

https://twitter.com/VaultOfDaedalus no, just said I wasn't sure if we'd do another or not. at the time, nothing had been planned. now it is. :-)

I have a feeling Pete Hines was very happy with their showcase from E3 2015 and has now decided to make one every year.

At least I hope. I have no idea why, but I was very excited for Bethesda Softworks E3 conference in 2015 and now I am again for Bethesda Softworks E3 2016 conference.

Well, E3 in 2015 drew such a large audience, because they FINALLY announced Fallout 4! :) Wonder what games they will feature this year!?

wait, you mean its not going to be the long awaited "Wayne Gretzky Hockey 2"?!

ahh man, whats the point then :(

EDIT: honestly, I am expecting them to mention how they plan to distribute mods on consoles.. I am pretty sure they won't allow consoles to just DL them from nexus (for obvious reasons), and they will likely need some way to regulate it (alot of those mods you will see on Nexus would clearly violate consoles eula).. I assume some kind of integration with bethesda.net... I sort of do wonder how they plan to offset the cost of running whatever distribution service console mods will be using..

How about releasing Skyrim and Fallout 4 without any online requirement whatsoever?

Genius move on their part if that′s the case considering no one expects that at all

I thing sooner or later Skyrim will come to XBOX one, but as it seems (unfortunate) this will not happen to PS4 any time soon.

That's Sony related (for obvious reasons...look compatibility), and Beth can't do anything about that!

I think it's scary you're the only one so far that even mentioned TES6.

I don't want TES 6 to be announced, it means they will have rushed it considering the only recent release of Fallout 4.

TES VI made by the new studio in Canada! Or at least a new engine for TES.

Hey for 2016 you and I might get our wish.

Judisaliscarot a gog.com employee said that a whole lot of PC versions of video games will be released for sale on gog.com this year. The way he described it makes it seem like more video games will be released for sale on gog.com than all of the previous years since 2008 when gog.com came into existence.

Maybe not the PC version of Fallout 4, but I think The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion with all of it's DLC's and Shivering Isles, Fallout 3 with all of it's DLC's, Quake IV, and Fallout: New Vegas. That's what I think.

Maybe Pete Hines will announce at their Bethesda Softworks E3 2016 conference a full on partnership with gog.com releasing all of their video games for sale on gog.com. Or a random announcement on gog.com like Stardock Entertainment did. At least I hope :).

Do you use gog.com at all? I think I remember you saying you don't?

Lets not make this into a gog.com topic though. It should be about Bethesda Softworks E3 2016 conference.

unless they worked on both products simultaneously, its not unheard of for a software dev to work on multiple projects at once..

while highly unlikely, it is a slight possibility they worked on both at the same time

While it is true that video game development companies work on developing two video games simultaneously and releasing one one year and another one another year. I think Bethesda Game Studios releasing The Elder Scrolls VI for sale this year with Fallout 4 DLC's and expansion packs it would cannibalize the sale of Fallout 4's DLC's and expansion packs.

I think Bethesda Game Studios will release The Elder Scrolls VI for sale in 2018, 2016 belongs to Fallout 4's DLC's and expansion packs and some for 2017.

It's an obvious question, but can their event survive without an announcement on the scale of a new TES or Fallout game?

Considering the hype Bethesda engendered with their event last year, any future events without a BGS title may feel anticlimactic.

Edit: I'm guessing that FO4 DLc won't be available until after E3.

I'm also very intrigued to see the atmosphere of the event, considering how polarizing certain elements of Fallout 4 have been, and the slight air of disappointment chaperoning Fallout 4, this event might feel eerily despondent and flat (like most E3 events).

I have absolutely no idea much of how marketing works, but doesn't it cost A LOT of money to setup your own conference for E3?

Wouldn't the video games that sell the most copies be the ones to make a conference for E3 for? So since there is no The Elder Scrolls VI debuted or released for sale in 2016, wouldn't Bethesda Softworks E3 2016 conference not be much of a success like their E3 2015 conference?

Unless it's what I have been speculating for a few years now, that the new Bethesda Game Studios in Montreal will be developing a brand new video game and Pete Hines will reveal it at E3 this year. Maybe it's that Starfield video game that was trademarked in 2013?

I don't think Doom and Dishonored 2 will sell as many copies as Fallout 4 did.

I could at least imagine they would show some DLC for Fallout 4. E3 is usually early June, and I think it would be safe to assume Fallout 4 DLC would release somewhere in the summer, as Dawnguard did with Skyrim. Reveal Fallout 4 DLC, more Doom, Dishonored 2, the inevitable ESO stuff, maybe even reveal something about mods coming to console. That could be something to show at E3.

Doom might get shown if it gets delayed and not get released for sale this spring.

Fallout 4 DLC's or expansion pack most certainly will be shown off if none get released between now and E3 2016 in June. Dishonored 2 has to be shown in some form, either a CGI video or a 20 minute gameplay video. The Elder Scrolls Online expansion pack should get shown off.

I don't think Fallout 4 will get a DLC or a expansion pack released this month or by May. The Creation Kit I have a feeling will release either this month or in March.

Maybe they'll do another showcase like they had with Skyrim to gauge response as well as give console mod details, but we all knew what was coming last year so we werent caught off guard or anything. Hard to match the hype of a new major title release like Fallout. TES and Fallout are the bread and butter, their biggest fanbases. But dont underestimate something like Doom, which I feel is what they will showcase. They had their alpha a few months ago, so I think they are closing in on showing off the game. And Doom still has a large following. I used to be a part of it, but not since iD was acquired.
