So here's the deal...
I was lurking around the E3 2011 expo site and noticed that on the exhibitor information, where each exhibitor lists all of the categories of the games that they will be unveiling, that Bethesda has marked a product under the "shooter category." I don't know if this is necessary old news or not, but what does this mean? I understand that Skyrim could be classified under the action, adventure, role-playing, and even digital downloading (due to its respective DLC) categories, but shooting? That seems a little bit of a stretch for arrows and spells doesn't it? Has anyone heard of any official announcements from Bethesda of any other games they've been making (or simply publishing) that might fall under this category? Just looking into it- might be nothing.

they've got Rage and Prey 2 in the works, as well as unannounced titles from Arkane and some Japanese developer i can't recall.

With Skyrim not even out until November, the likeliness of that is virtually non-existent. We all want more Fallout, but give it time.

My post was right at the bottom of the last page and I have a strong suspicion it really is the game I'm thinking of, so to reitirate, I think it may be DOOM 4... the thing they failed to show off when they predicted to last year and the game confirmed to be in development by Id. That would be big news, I'd think. Then again, "unveil" implies announce and we already know DOOM 4 is in development, but they haven't showed anything or said anything about it, yet, really and it could use an announcement trailer.

It's no surprise that Bethesda Softworks is releasing some shooters developed by other companies soon. What would be a surprise is a shooter developed by Bethesda Game Studios.
