Bethesda - thank you, Skyrim is a work of art

Post » Tue Dec 06, 2011 7:12 pm

* Scenery that literally stops me in my tracks - rarely in a computer game have I stopped and stared at my computer screen for 3 minutes.

* Bards: I love this simple addition to the taverns, I literally sit with my character and just listen

* I love the terrain - how it changes across different parts of Skyrim - from hot springs, to tundra, to mountain ranges

* I love the SIDE TALK of the NPCs - it's even in dungeons! I love listening to a long dialogue by the NPCs in a dungeon - it is very immersive

* Dungeon design - every one has felt different - many with twists and turns in terms of enemies, plots, quests - amazing and best of the series in my opinion

These are a few, but I simply wanted to say thank you - now I'm off to watch a dragon circle a snowy peak, while a mercenary walks by and may offer me a job, and off in the distance the fish leap and the bears walk.

What are you thanking them for? Did they give you a free copy? I had to pay $59.96 for mine.

Because they could have made a COD style game that would have been more profitable.

People with a touch of class don't think twice about thanking someone for good service or a good product, free or paid for.

Yup and you got a heck of a lot more game than any other 60 dollar game out there right now. Thank them for not making a 5 hour game with some lame MP added on.

At least it's positive. I don't see you posting this on all the BLARG threads...

But we can't post positive threads. Oh, I see.

:mohawk: this forum needs a like button for posts like this. Bumping it because I feel the same way and despite any dislikes they don't ruin the game in anyway and I am enjoying it more than I ever did other Bethesda games. So for all the whinging, crybaby, complainers :violin:

This has nothing to do with class. Thanking somebody for something that you paid for makes little sense. If anything, they should be thanking us because if we didn't buy their products then they would go out of business.
free or paid for.

If Skyrim were free, then I'd thank them.

Most negative threads actually have some point in them. But its usually covered up with stuff like WORST GAME EVARR or DUMBDOWN[censored] NO RPG ANYMORR. Reasonable conversations about bad points in this game would be the best, but were in the interwebz and thats impossible here.

No. The internet is only for anger. Everything else is a waste of time.

Zeppo, you'll live a lot longer and happier if you don't spend so much time worrying whether topics on the internet are valid or not.

Also, considering this is a fan site, it's not surprising that people might want to talk about how much they love the game from time to time.

False, I live in the internet and feed with the souls of unvalid topics. I also dislike the wars between [censored] and haters in these forums, and more threads that support that war is a bad thing, this is one of those threads.

Aye, Specially the PC version. It's "almost" perfect visually. On a high-end system like mine anyway. I also have the Xbox version with is nice but both it and ps3 just don't do it justice once you've seen it on PC. After a couple of patches and mod's for PC I'll be sitting nicely and hopefully the will work out some issue with the console versions.

Some 1920/1200 screens;

If you're calling Skyrim similar to MW3 then you don't deserve to be here.

It's called a business. And no need to thank them, as they don't want your thanks, they want your money. Be grateful, but don't express it until they fix the bugs and texture issues. You're enabling bad behavior. It's like a parent-kid relationship.

They get our money by making great games. I sincerely hope they spend alot of time patching this rather than having their entire team work on DLCs. I know patching is no fun but please!

Have to agree. It would have been easy to release a game with a quarter of the content, features and quality, stick the TES name on it and it would have shifted massive units. Heck, they could just have reissued the texture packs and designs and lore from Oblivion and half this board would have been happier - reading the comments. This is what a lot (if not most) publishing houses are doing.

They took their time, they redesigned the world and they packed it with content. Buggy? Yes, but give it a month or two. Well done I say.
