I'm talking about the purging quest, where you have to clear out the DB sanctuary, I figured the part where they trolled us really hard is where that http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion:M suddenly decided to apologize for being and rude RIGHT when we were about to kill him. Also, overall, the DB was a really sad questline

I don't see that at all. It was a rather happy questline with a great ending. Starts out bad with a bunch of prevs and creeps, not to mention a weirdo boss. But you get to personnally deal with many of them. And you boss is eliminated to make room for your advancement. Nothing sad about that!!!

One thing that could have made if more uplifting would have been if you could have personally taken care of Lucien, rather than letting others have hall the fun!

Poohunter: my biggest disappointment with DB is the targets we're suppose to assassinate don't really seem to suffer. They eat a poison arrow, and fall over dead immediately, iirc.

Yes, this is my gripe with all the Oblivion quest lines. They're all on railroad tracks, and there's no way to take any appropriate alternative action.
