Bethesda, Valve, I highly urge you.

To bring back the payment feature in some way shape or form. This would have been an opportunity to see the modding community soar to heights never seen before on any game. Allowing modders to charge would bring so many people in on the business, it's just such a ripe an easy opportunity, people like me, and there are thousands others, who don't have precious time to waste making mods because life is just so demanding it affords no time to waste can only be drawn into the modding community if we get something for it. This makes modding attractive on a scale that beforehand is unfathomable. So many people would be drawn to the opportunity, sure a few guys would only be there to cash in on the deal, but competition between mods would refine prices by law of supply and demand and force creativity to attract the most our decisions on what we should buy.

This was a great idea and would've given birth to a modding community such as has not be seen and cannot since so very few of us have the time of day to pursue a hobby, which no matter how much we love, many of us are left out since we just don't have the time to waste. There are shipyards more worth of people out there who would love to mod but can't afford the time to it. Something like this would've broken the ice and the creativity of thousands would've come flooding in. Not too mention the boon this would give to the modding community, but how great of a business opportunity this would have been on everyone's end. People who only now do it for free would have a chance to really show us there stuff. The modding community, while soar at first, would be reborn in such a way that would flourish like never before. Sometimes it takes a little hurt before people can truly understand the benefit things of this nature can bring to us.

I don't know if this is posted in the right place, but I highly urge everyone at the top to keep thinking about this and give this idea a second chance. I am 100% sure there is a way this can be done that could make everyone happy.

There's a handful of people who would dive at the opportunity to do something like creating wonderful mods for a video game, if the support was there to bring them in.

I highly urge reconsideration no matter what anyone says. People who want to continue making there mods for free can go ahead and do that. And we would have too things. The proud, selflessly driven free community of Skyrim modding, but a whole other world of modding at the other end for those willing to spend a couple quarters to add something special to their game. Nobody loses anything, the current modding community is adamant and I'm sure even with a way to make worth their time I'm absolutely sure they would stay determined in their principles as modders to continue producing free content. If nothing their stubborn resistence to the idea should be proof of their word.

All I'm saying is there was a whole new world in elder scrolls modding awaiting us and now the doors are shut.

I think you guys need to be bold and step forward with this. It takes some amount of audacity to usher in something truly great that we can all enjoy.

Nah would end up killing off free modding in the long run. This is something we don't want Valve/Bethesda/Anyone getting hedgmoney over. Not in the right forum anyways. Skyrim mods is where you want to go.

What you're getting right now is 1% of the mods you would be getting if we could get paid. So many people would cash in on it. Rebellious modders would sell for cheap. It would come at little cost on our parts.

Or all the shizz can be free, you don't get robbed, and companies don't have the work done for them.

Free stuff is the best stuff.

Valve has basically said it's going back to the drawing board. So it's quite possible (if not likely) that they'll give it another go some time, they're just gunna give it a lot more thought. They may also restrict its introduction to new games which do not have a modding community to disrupt.

For the moment, however, I don't see much to discuss that hasn't already been flamed around all over the internet...

That sounds like a terrible idea. How about we keep it free.
