@JackQFrost should have updated information very soon

In response to:

@bethblog @dcdeacon @gstaffinfection the on-going silence towards your customer base and a PR policy of "admit nothing" are quite shameful.

I hope they do, just so I don't have to see any more threads about people bawling how Bethesda won't talk to them. Seriously, is anyone else sick of this?

No, Bethesda has an obligation to tell the people what is going on, its not like they gave the game for free... i am not having ANY issues of CTD os Quest stopping Bugs, i had minor issues with 1.2 (keyboard and Xbox360 controller), i have nothing to argue to but i do think Bethesda needs to start aknowledging all the issues people claim to be having.

They do not have an obligation, read the fiine print on the box. They do know about the isssues but you cannot reasonably asume they can just fix them overnight, which is what 90% of all these complaint threads want them to do. Fixes take time.

Mmm... but to do that they have to figure out exactly what is going on. You may believe that "We don't know, but we're looking into it" would have appeased folks, but I'm doubtful.

And what exactly would that fix concerning the game?

We were told they were investigating. Geez. A game that took more than 3 years to make has a lot of interconnectedness and there's a lot to look at. Give them time to make the fixes and not rush one out. We're investigating means they're working on fixing it.

It took hardly any time at all for an unofficial fix for LAA for 64 bit PC users, and then hardly any time before they released a patch that nullified it. I understand they're busy, but why not incorporate what was already identified and repairable so early on for people who can't play the updated game without workarounds? And why not say why not?

Compare Bethesda's patches, which quite frankly have been patchy in themselves, to those from From Software and they don't really stack up. Compare the two company's feedback and general quality of information and Bethesda look even worse

of all bethesda games, none have been as crazy and massive as skyrim, but i feel that is no excuse to release a game who they have an established fan base, literally make millions, and then do nothing to communicate their folly. they should not have released the game on nov. 11th and i think they are well aware of this now! this game is riddled with bugs. the more i play the more quests i cannot finish. the lag is still prominent and my save files are still increasing in size. the worst part is i love this game so much!!! A major company can't just make "two second comments." I know it's frustrating but as someone who does PR I'm pretty damn familiar with this. When the problems started on the forums, the forum people had to consult the techs, then the techs had to consult the PR department who had to ponder exactly the problem as they went back and forth with the actual coders. Is it kinda lame? Yes, but that's our modern business climate, but I just wanted to explain why even a "simple answer" isn't so simple in corporate culture.

Why would you assume that they don't know about the issue? Or that they wouldn't fix the resistance bug or the other problems created by the patch?

Three hours later - "Some people experience issues with the newest patch. So, eh, sorry, or something. Btw the CK will not come this month. Love, Bethstaff" :D

Really who even cares? Any information they give us will just be extremely vague and uninformative as seems to be their trend this last month. Either that or just completely false.

I think people have a right to be a little pissed off at this attitude.

PR is one of the wrost things capitalist society has created. Theres little to no connection with consumers anymore.

I'm just waiting for people to start calling them liars for saying 'very soon' but not acting on it 'soon' enough.

They may have no legal obligation, but from a PR perspective, it would probably be a good idea.

Furthermore, it will only spark more outrage:

Bethesda: Hi, we know the patch broke some stuff, we are looking into a fix.

Ravening Hoard: OMG U SUK! Y U not done yet?

Slobbering Troll: Stop posting nonsense and fix the game!

Bethesda can't win in this situation.

This patch fixes...
- Something that didn't work right, once, a few years ago...
- A one-time occurance in the intro, where the horse failed to "Neigh" on a bump in the road...
- The ending credits, where we forgot to mention the lead-bug-fixer...
- A steam-issue, which allowed paying customers to enjoy less bugs, without our permission...
- Three floating containers, which didn't contain anything, but they looked funny, if you looked down that empty hallway...
- The land-formation of morrowind in the distance, which you couldn't see... now has the correct textures...
- Giant-bashing animations on death of the player now last longer, so you can see yourself hit the ground... Once dead... before you reload to a living state, some time before you remembered to save the game at this point.

I think that terminology is symptomatic of the problem: I'm not a consumer, I'm a customer. I hate the way those who actually pay for goods and services are depersonalised into a demanding and ungrateful "consumer".

You mean you think that despite the issues people are writing about, they shouldn't be complaining? Or do you mean that you have avoided reading the reasons that "everyone" is complaining? Not everyone is playing the flawless gem you must be running.
