Bethesda, you need to patch the game to support nVIdia SLI.

Here's a nice little collection of the amount of people complaining (like me) that Bethesda's "flag ship game" didn't have something as simple as SLI ready to go on day one of its release:

There might be more that I missed. HELLO, BETHESDA!?

Is anyone from Bethesda EVEN AWARE of the problem?

It would be great to get some sort of official Bethesda response on this!

Is it a coincidence that there have been numerous game releases this year, and the many people complaining about features such as SLI/Crossfire or nVidia Surround do not get a response from any of these publishers/developers? Not really.

I am willing to bet one of you the wealth of the richest family on earth that Bethesda is not going to so much as respond, or even acknowledged that this is a problem. Let alone fix the problem.

if this thread got big enough they would reply, but it wont. It will get a few responses and slip to page 2 and we will be forced to rely on community fixes.

That's what it's looking like.

I've filled a bug report to Bethesda on this problem. I think it's going to take a miracle to even get their attention on this. And even if we do, how long is it going to take to even FIX this problem? A month, two months, three months, a YEAR? What the hell?

Any who, for those of you who want to try your hands at nothing short of a miracle, try sending a bug report to Bethesda:

You would think after 7-8 YEARS to make a game..wouldn't you? Yet we don't even have full key binding available which leaves out every left hander.

It's not actually a problem of bethesda's. It's nvidia's. Sli works just fine if you add the correct settings using nvidia inspector. It seems some people using gtx 9** series cards have problems getting the sli settings to behave correctly but it works brilliantly for me.

These are the settings i'm using.

Sli compatability bits (DX1x): 0x084000F5 (Tomb Raider (2013, Apollo 11 Demo)

With the following custom sli settings.

SLI_PREDEFINED_GPU_COUNT_DX10_FOUR
SLI_PREDEFINED_GPU_COUNT_FOUR
SLI_PREDEFINED_MODE_DX10_FORCE_AF2
SLI_PREDEFINED_MODE_FORCE_AF2

Also it is very important to set the maximum number of pre-rendered frames to 1 in the nvidia control pannel for the game. Trust me that's key to it performing properly and for reducing mouse/input lagg. That should be set to 1, sli or not.

I have 2 x 2gb evga 660 SC cards in sli. I have the game set at 1080p ultra settings with taa. The above settings for me lifted it from 30-50fps to full 60fps all the way.

I know some people have issues with the light source being seen through solid objects using any kind of sli settings but i do NOT have that issue with the above specific settings. The game runs flawless and clean for me with the above. I believe that is an architecture/driver issue that seems to plague the gtx 9** series cards and is nvidias problem, not bethesda's. If not, it wouldn't work perfectly for me as it does on gtx 660 cards.

....I'm so tired of people posting fixes that work extremely half assuredly, claiming that it "LOCKS 60 FPS!!! LOLOLOL" --- Like they have played 5 minutes after tweaking it. Have you gone to all the areas? Do you have 60 hours of trying different tweaks? No? Then I recommend...that you stop advertising bad fixes...from bad youtube videos...from bad people.

@Digideath - No, it is bethesdas problem, if you go into the 3d settings for ANY other game there is an option for multi gpu, which fixes the problem in its entirety. Yet for this game, there isn't.

There was no SLI for ESO at first, but they VERY quickly added an update for SLI.

There was no SLI for Skyrim, and within 2 weeks or so there was an update for it, because it was bethesdas fault.

Forcing customers to tweak their pcs using bad youtube tutorials because they were incapable of putting sli support into the game is not good business.

It's possible that SLI (SLI will be used in lieu of SLI/Crossfire) will never be available, and that's something that all of us SLI operators must accept. Sometimes graphical aspects of engines require information from the previous frame in order to properly process the next frame. In those cases, video cards alternating frame rendering is incompatible with such things. See Unreal Engine 4+ to see an example of this.

It will be, make noise if it makes you feel better, but it turns out these are user forums, and Bethesda does not communicate here. So scream into the wind, it does help.

@nexus1g - That doesn't explain why other games using this engine support sli

@linflas - Whats funny is that when you send them a ticket about this issue, they say to check the tech forums here. Then the fans find out that the devs don't check these forums. Awesome.

Which other games?
The Creation Engine, developed inhouse by Bethesda, is used in two games. And guess what? The other isen't optimized for SLI either. I will let you figure out which game it is, on your own. Stop spewing crap.

This is a user forum.

Todd Howard isen't reading these posts, which to be honest, I am finding childish and the self entitledment amazes me.

While I understand that not being able to use SLI must svck, it is not a bug. Please understand that the game was not developed to utilize SLI.

If you haven't looked, I hope post might be helpful:

http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1543988-a-data-vault-of-tweaks-and-fixes-for-the-pc-version/

In addition, one of my friends have had sucess with:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MmkZ_JkJibU

perhas you can too.

And no. Bethesda will not be posting here. =)

@Tzarreth - Skyrim utilized both chips in my 690, this game does not, so the creation engine can utilize sli. The support was added shortly after release, so the engine is perfectly capable of doing so.

All the other posts and youtube posts are just crap, they tell you to use bits from other games which makes your game run buggy, and under 30 fps. Then there is the force alternate frame rendering option, which just causes the other chip to go berserk.

I am aware of Skyrim SLI. That is why I used the word 'Optimized'. I hope that clarifies.

I am pretty sure SLI is often a case by case problem. I do not use SLI myself, but as I said: my friend found my previous youtube-link to assist him, which is why I posted it. I might be beneficial to others.

In skyrim you can go into 3d settings and it has a multi gpu option, in FO4 there is no multi gpu option, and skyrim runs fabulously on my 690, so it is pretty optimized. There is no excuse to not have a multi gpu option in the 3d settings for fo4 considering this game uses the same engine. Ill give it till the end of next week. If there has been no addition to sli by then, im going to console. Mods are available on xb1 now, so whatever.

It depends on what they did with the engine between Skyrim and now. I find that people tend to overuse the word "engine" without really understanding what it is beyond a nebulous concept. Just because it's called the same thing, doesn't mean it is the same thing.

They haven't responded to or fixed any of the crashing issues in the game, not even the major and widespread one where people crash after pressing "Play" on the launcher. I highly doubt they're going to respond this this :(.

This is a knock on gamesas. Not on you guys. I feel for your issues too. I really hope they do something soon.

I haven't much experience with SLI but isn't it Nvidia that adds the support? I see it on the driver patch notes, SLI profile added for X game. Is this not the case?

SLI profiles are just optimum driver settings for different games. It's up to the developer to ensure their engine can work with SLI.

Ok so do all games enable SLI by default in the driver settings, and Nvidia just release a profile for best settings? Is it common for games to work with SLI at launch?
