By the time Bethesda would be ready to make such a game, I think technology would have advanced so much that they could create big worlds and fill it with objects and everything so fast and easy, it would take just a few years :D

The thing would be to optimize the engine so much that entire Tamriel could be created.

I think the biggest hardware obstacle to make all of Tamriel would be the AI, and thus the CPU time it consumes. All the terrain, LOD, physics...they could be calculated with the current system and current technologies (basically applying the general norm of "closer --> more detailed", while all the data that is far away from a certain distance simply wouldn't be processed), but AI needs to be constantly processed, even the one with the lowest detail. That'd take an enourmous amount of CPU time, not to talk about memory (although surely nothing that 12-16 gbs couldn't handle).

Once that AI / CPU issue is solved, the rest should be easy. It'd be all about intelligent cell management & purge.

I doubt it. Maybe they have a grand plan, and as much as I would with to dream of TES Tamriel (yes I've thought of it as well) I doubt its existence will ever be realized.
I see it being too large of a project to be profitable for them. And can anyone imagine the disk space it would require? We would have 3-4 blu ray disks ort he DVD equivilent.
And can you imagine the development time? Sure they have reasources to use, but it would all need to be updated. The amount of creatures would be astonishing, or they would leave a lot of them out and it would svck. I couldn't even fathom the number of dungeons. The only way I could see them doing this is if they made each province much smaller, which would only make us sad...

So no I don't believe it will ever exist.

And TES: Akavir? Doubt it, unless you get rid of Todd, he only likes making western rpg's.

Their plan is to rule all nerd life on earth by having us locked in our houses playing TES.

I don't think so, but really, you never know. All the info is pointing to the fact that Skyrim is the climix. No more? Probably. I hope not, but it's all Bethesda's choice. Let's all hope they make the right one.

Anyone think Beth will make an ES game in each province before making TES:Tamriel?

Is that what they're planning? sure its a long way to go, but I can see it happening one day when technology allows it.

Technically they have made TES: Tamriel. You visit each province in Arena hehe.

How cool would it be with a TES: Backwater? As in Valenwood, Elsweyr, southern Cyrodiil (the area around Leyawiin), and Black Marsh?
Maybe also a TES: The West (another name of course). Featuring High Rock, Hammerfell, and the Summerset Isle.

Isn't this a little premature anyway. Grand plan wise we can't really know what will happen next until we see the ending of Skyrim, sure we can use the Lore to get ideas but Beth have been know to alter Lore slightly to suit purpose.
Still I want a massive elder scrolls game sometime, with a scary amount of gameworld to explore.

or Zenimax doesn't go bust

Just something that might interest people,
In the Skryim Game Informer (Australia issue atleast) It has an article that says how Zenimax has grown and acquired alot of creative company's to publish for or something. And how they might be heading their way up with the giants EA, Activision ect.

EA has really turned around the quality of games they have released in the past five years or so. Dead Space. Dragon Age. Mass Effect. Battlefield. The list goes on.

TES Nirn would be a sight to see, but that would sound more like an MMO more than a single player game.

As far as TES Tamriel, we already had that with Arena to be honest...

TES: Under the Water.
The underwater civilizations will rise and destroy everything!

And then we shall get TES: Nirn.

The south will rise again huh?

Lets' count: Hammerfell (or was it High Rock in Daggerfall? Didn't play ), Summerset Isle, Valenwood, Elsweyr and Black Marsh. Five games. So TES: Tamriel would be TES XI. There are already franchises that reached that number and surpassed it. Why not?

I don't think I've played any EA games. Aren't they kinda famous for really annoying DRM? Has that gotten any better, worse or unchanged recently?

No, Tamriel means "dawn's beauty". "Nirn" means "arena". Need to keep the two distinct, as there's plenty to Nirn aside from Tamriel itself. ;)

I think by then Bethesda will be currupt, tes will be bought by a different studio, Bethesda will be bought by different company, tes will have stoped being made, a new gen of gaming will be available which tes can't be made for or you will have died of old age/too old for games.
I wish it were true but I can't see my self playing tes tamreil. :'(
