Does ANYBODY know how he did the first person view from inside the helmet on that heavy leather robe? For those who don't know what I mean, it's an unused item in the CS - Heavy Leather Robe. It's an armor piece that covers you from head to toe - a leather robe with a watchman helm on top. You put it on - and boom you can see from inside the helmet with absolutely nothing blocked from view as far as the HUD goes. The vision inside is absolute crap, but still. I think it could be a huge deal if it turns out to be something we can replicate.
There appears to be no shader, and no script. It's as if the camera is simply inside the helmet. I looked in the CS, and there is only a hair piece and a chest piece. From what I understand, neither head nor chest pieces appear in 1st person normally. The only things I've ever seen in first person have been neck pieces, such as the cloth inside his imperial armors. Also of note is the fact that just the standard Watchman Helm does not have this effect when equipped.
Actually, thinking about it... the robe is primarily a chest piece armor. When equipped, it also has the helm which is considered a hair piece, but that's not the primary spot for the item. So when such a thing happens, we're able to see that mesh. If that's the case, replacing that hair piece with anything else should work famously and we'd see from inside any open helmet. The problem would then lie within the fact that all helmets you wanted to do this with would take up extra slots, breaking certain things. Plus, any helmet without a good open mesh would be rather difficult to see out of. I'll see what all I can come up with though just for fun. As most of the other meshes put your eyes really close to the openings, I'm willing to bet most of these will give you a great view.
EDIT - Nope, just tried it. That theory is wrong. I replaced the top mesh with the Armun-An mesh and when worn you still have the Watchman Helm view. Hmm...
EDIT2 - Apparently when you have the same name as a mesh you use followed by .1st you suddenly see that mesh when using first person? So let's say you have a helmet using AAA and one in the same folder called AAA.1st. When you equip the item with the mesh "AAA", "AAA.1st" will automatically appear when you go into 1st person? And that's really all you need for 1st person? If so, making nifty 1st person helmet views without the need for shaders would seem pretty trivial. This is probably nothing new, but I haven't exactly heard it advertised anywhere so it's news to me.
