Better Armor (from HedgeHog-12)

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 4:46 pm

Are the Bone armor ones completely translated? And I second Illius's questions.

So far, I have the Ebony version and that is truly amazing. So is the steel and Iron versions, all so awesome.

The Bone armor part has no read me, and from the download site they say I need a BSA from another site, which is all in Russian.

I wouldn't be able to get a hold of that from somebody else would I?

Well...for the first time i have to say that i realy do not like to look of it.

*The Cuirass doesn't look Daedric to me at all.

*The colors are to bright in my opinion.

*And the shield looks like a centipede with big spikes on it. It is way
to big for my liking.

It just doesn't give me that Daedric feeling? But Hedgehog-12 will
have reasons for making it like that, but this one isn't for me. :(

I think the summoned helm and shield look really cool - but I agree on the colors, they look too bright and a bit candy-like. One thing I've learned when checking out HedgeHog's stuff, though, is that you really have to check them out ingame to get a clear picture of how they look.

No, you will have to download the Armor mod itself first. Painkillers fix is just
an esp.

Correct. The previous translation was missing out some arrows (or bolts?), that's all... Other than that, all is translated.

Again, thanks for the help! :) I've been off the forums for a while (and will be again), so thank you (and my old buddie Arkngt) in Hedgehog's behalf for keeping this thread alive and well-informed!

Cheers,
PKR.

Whats the diff between the Ad version and the ST version?

Yeah you can just use the esp from Painkiller. All the Hlaalu guards..all the
guards in Ald ruhn, and every one i have come across so far that wears
Bonemold armor is wearing the version from Hedgehog-12 with Painkillers
esp. You can use the same method with the other 2 armors as well. :)

Speaking of the spectacular http://arkngt.googlepages.com/hedghehog_wt_01.jpg, I have a problem with http://arkngt.googlepages.com/hedghehog_wt_02.jpg. At least I think so. I unpacked the bsa to check out the textures - there are 40 ones! - and noticed that she is supposed to have cool hair. Guess it would be:

@_creature_twilight_hair.dds
@_creature_twilight_hair_nm.dds

Anyone who has an idea what might cause this?

Thanks for the thread! Without that I would probably never discover this mod! From my experience, russian mods for many games are usually the most interesting (probably due to mentality similarities), bet i guess they also have quite a dedication in what they do.

So better bodies, clothes, heads, books, armor... a weapon replacer should be next.

Some of the foreign mod makers are on a whole other level from what we're used to, these guys do amazing everything, and Hedgehog is no exception.

i got this warning;

Not able to find Knee part in a_orcish_greaves_ul01.
Not able to find Knee part in a_orcish_greaves_ul01.
TES3Stream Warning: Model "Meshes\@B_IMP_Arm\@imp_HL05silv.NIF" tex not found "@_A_Steel_helmet07.dds"!
TES3Stream Warning: Model "Meshes\@B_IMP_Arm\@imp_HL05silv.NIF" tex not found "@_A_Steel_helmet09.dds"!

The reason why i post here is because i use the Orcish armor and The Imperial armor
mods(And one other. :) ) from Hedgehog-12. Did any one else get this warning?

No one ever got this error with Hedgehog-12 imperial armor?

Then i am starting to think it is some kind of mod related problem, but
with which one. This error pops up every time i enter Fort Moonmoth,
and although not game stopping it is extremely annoying.

So if this error is mod related, then does any one have a idea which
one could be causing this with the Imperial armor replacer?

Note that the Imperial armor uses resources from the Templar bsa, so you need it (or its bsa at least) as well:

!!!!IMPORTANT!!!
In order to reduce archive size templar armor textures were removed, you must use bsa archive from my Better Templar Armor. You only have to register "Better armor (rev7_Templar).bsa" in morrowind.ini; activating the plug-in is not necessary but recommended.

The Templar bsa is installed and is registered in the Morrowind.ini so that
couldn't be the reason?

I checked the Better armor (rev8_Imperial(st+ad).bsa and it doesn't have those textures. They are in Better armor (rev5_Steel).bsa, however. Guess it could be fixed if using that as well? :unsure:

Ok that is weird, why would it need to have the steel armor bsa?
Imperials do not use steel armor like in Hedgehog-12 steel armor replacer
do they? Just because this happens in one particular place only, i am
not going to install that one as well. It looks extremely good ingame i
know because i used that one before, but still.

The problem with the Imperial armour is quite simply that there is a texture missing from the bsa file, i think hedgehog simply overlooked it, there is a texture by that name in the steel armour bsa which means that if you have the steel armour installed as well then you wont get the error message. If you you want to play the imperial Armour independantly of the steel then you can http://www.freewebs.com/slartibartfast1/downloads.htm below the Annastia fix. Just drop it into your textures folder.

The texture doesn't look appropriate to me so i will look further.

meanwhile can anyone supply a link for the orcish armour please ?
