Better Beasts by Alien Slof

Post » Fri May 13, 2011 5:03 pm

This is my first post on this forum here, so if I posted this thread badly, please let me know. Anyhow, 3-4 months ago I started working on a something that became like a personal hobby of mine, and that is making a perfect edition of Morrowind by gathering all the mods at one place, Of course, this "perfect edition" is meant for my own personal tastes, and it took me quite a while to download all the mods I valued worthy having. 2 months ago I was unable to go on with this project (RL things), and up until now that was put on hold. And now I'm getting slowly to the point: I was able to make all the mods work together and acquired a bit of knowledge in cleaning dirty references and such things, but this particular mod is currently beyond my skills: Better Beasts By Alien Slof.

The problem is that I like to use "civilized" version since I really dislike the walking animation of regular beasts and this mod is strangely unique in entire internet with this option. But, when I use civilized version the neck of beasts gets buggy and blurry, looking really ugly compared to the rest of game. I found out that cause of this is the Tail Patch, and I don't like the fact I have to choose between tails and normal looking neck, that certainly isn't perfect version. Solution of this problem is, like I said, beyond me, and I asked elsewhere and was directed here by Mr. Adam Zsoldos.

If anybody would be able to help me, I would really appreciated it. Naturally, some sort of instant solution would be best, but I'm willing to learn to edit textures if it's necessary, if that would solve the problem, I just need to atleast be directed to what precisely causes problem and how to solve it.

Thanks in advance, Asheron

You can try to use Liztail's New Beast Bodies with Slofs' textures: http://www.liztail.com/view_project.php?prj_id=2

I believe there is a "BB neck fix" esp that is included in Slof's Better Beasts mod. You may need to check that with your esp.

Sorry for taking me few days to reply, I appreciate your help.

@FallenWizard - I am very well aware of LizTail's mods, they are very well made, but it's not what I'm searching for. To my knowledge, LizTail has clean and mature downloads, but not "civilized" version like AlienSlof has. While her textures are outstanding, I really don't like the animation that Bethesda used for beast races, so this is not what I seek.

@Pwin - First off, getting Better Heads v2.0 was bit hard for me, until I remembered I had one old dvd with mods I used to use. Currently I don't use Better Heads, no offense to makers of it, but I simply have head replacement mods that suit my taste far better. I tried using that fix without Better Heads, and I ended up with headless people walking around. So now I placed Better Heads, activated the BB neck fix and... it's still there. It's quite weird bug, necks are blurry only when you wear armor/clothing, but if you have naked chest, necks looks just fine. I would show screenshots, but fraps is acting up a bit, I will update my post with screenshots as soon as I can.

I would really like to see this problem solved, it's keeping me from actually playing Morrowind.
