Better Building Mod Please!

Post » Sun Nov 29, 2015 4:20 pm

I love the building in this game... BUT IT COULD BE SO MUCH BETTER

Please someone make a Better Building mod

Things I would like to see:

- no building size limit

- able to build anywhere (Optional)

- better snap mechanics (Like when you want to attatch a wall to another, one side is on the wall and you can rotate the other)

- No collision with other items (able to turn off and on)

Added stuff

- angled walls/roofs

Thats really the main issues I have but if someone could add some more models that would be pretty sweet.

If you have any thing to add please comment and Ill add it.

Someone already made a mod to remove the limits on building but apparently the reason its there is due to hardware limitations not just the consoles either but limits of some computer setups as well.

As far as adding, well

I find that I often run into issues with not having enough wood resource at settlements probably cause I didn't chop down every tree in Sanctuary though.

Hardware limitation on consoles maybe, on PC most of us will be able to build a ton more things with the limits gone, I'm already using http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/818/? and it's much more fun to build.

I thought I read (or saw in a video somewhere?) that mods could be used on consoles for Fallout 4 but I'm not seeing how to set up the mod that Tawnee linked to on the PS4.

Am I mistaken about console mods being allowed now?

Is it a situation where they have to be written specifically for a console?

Thanks,

Shane

Yeah consoles need to wait for mods to be ported or written for them, and I'm not sure PS4 is getting mods, only xbox (not certain on this though). The mod I linked is for PC only.

What also needs to be added either by bethesda or a modder some more different building options. like angled walls especially trying to build a wall round the settlements when there are alot of hilly areas.

To some degree that works when you build everything on a fundament, that you can find under wooden constructions - floors ( don't know exactly how all this is called in the english version )

This fundament is more collision tolerant then other objects.

Unfortunately, a good tutorial or manual for this building stuff is missing too.

There's a way of getting around the size limit, I'm on ps4 and have a huge red rock settlement. It's not a very time consuming thing but a proper mod would be better.

Just thinking about it, mine's probably twice the limit but doesn't seem to slow down at all, let alone crash. Hopefully this is because the red rock isn't the largest settlement to begin with. Has anyone pushed settlement building too large on consoles and crashed the game?
