Better buildings and wallfloor combining

I should b able to fix existing structures like at Sanctuary. It costs wood n steal to create a new wall why not allow us to fix existing wall's n roofs of buildings n make it look nice like covenant. Also the outer junk fences need to be able to align better. Huge gaps

I dunno. goes along with theme of game I guess..

I always thought it would be cool to get the undamaged pre-war Sanctuary building codes and try to replace those houses. PC console of course...

That's what happens when you tack a system into the game last minute ;)

Or at least let us scrap the old wall and build a new one. We can scrap practically any furniture and container inside a house, and yet we can't scrap a damaged wall or ceiling, which doesn't make sense. Sadly, it is perhaps due to the game engine's limitation. Maybe the game can't recognize a damaged wall as one discrete item that can be manipulated. And yet, the game recognizes a broken fence and makes it scrappable.

The houses are one mesh. Even the damaged houses. (note how they all look about the same?) I am sure that shortly after the geck comes out, any house within your settlement will be able to be restored to 'like new' condition. That should contribute to happiness as well. :D

Their is a mod for the junk fences to align better so you can clip them through each other till they actually touch, wish it were in the base game though.

That would be nice, I agree. But then, I haven't seen any walls that have windows, really, and that's what frustrates me the most. There are some shack walls that have window-esque features, but...not what I'm looking for.

I don't mind buildings and other things looking banged together from sheet metal and such. I get that this fits with the theme. What I hate is not being able to patch holes. The patch can be ugly and ramshackle - fine. Just let me have a patch and not a 10 foot hole in the ceiling. Even prehistoric people would have stuck some mud and twigs in there.

Also, either let me be able to clip objects into the ground or else force the ground to flatten beneath objects. Or just make the ground in most settlements generally flat. Floating walls stink.

You can sort of patch holes in the ceiling if you get up on the roof and sink the roof tile below the shingles where it would be flat and spam roof tiles. I mean it gives you the thought of having a solid ceiling even if you cant really tell. In any case I gave up on restoring the old houses and have decided to just build on top of them. Sanctuary is slowly turning into cloud city.

I scrapped everything in or near the ruined houses and just built multi-story new buildings on the pre-existing foundations. It's actually more annoying at places like Red Rocket which are great except for a few stubborn holes in walls you can do very little about. I manged to seal them up, but only after fiddling around for like 2 hours.
