I'm not entirely certain, but based on your last post, I'd say you have misread some installation instructions and did not correctly install OCR, thus resulting in things not appearing as desired in-game.
Absolutely, no doubt about that.
I have to slow down still.
My appetite for improvements is sometimes so big, that i swallow whole, so to speak.
Finding all the details before installing comprehensive mods is something i realy have to insert in my habits, but these lessons will surely get me there.
Thank you all for the patience you have in teaching me the right way of doing the nessesary things.
Firstly specifically about Better Cities, I have no idea at all what you mean here: "While installing Better cities, i choose the option: Merge with 5.0? while 5.0 was not installed."
I am totally unaware of any sort of option in Better Cities worded like this. What is it merging with? There shouldn't be any merging going on during installation. You create three OMODs or three BAIN packages, and then you install those three packages, selecting the options which suit you as asked from the script/wizard.
At beginning the installation of the Better Cities OMOD, i was asked wetter i wanted to merge with 5.0 or install all parts seperately ? I do not recal the exact text of the message..
The second time i installed this message showed, so i asume it was there the first time also, but i read over it, or misunderstood the message at that time..
If you want to use OCR, then you need to install the entirety of OCR, plus both resource archives for BC, plus the BC ESM from the main BC archive, plus the BC OCR patch currently available as a separate download on the BC Nexus page (whose readme tells you what it needs to work) - you must not install any other part of BC as it will conflict with OCR (though if you want the BC Imperial City, then you can install this instead of the parts of OCR relating to the Imperial City). You do NOT rename any files from BC or from OCR.
Load order would then be:
Open Cities Resources.esm
Better Cities Resources.esm
Better Cities .esp
Open Cities Reborn.esp
Better Cities - Open Cities Reborn.esp
Followed by either the Better Cities Imperial City ESP(s) or the Open Cities Reborn Imperial City ESP(s).
Ok, now you gave something to chew on.... As for now, i have no idea how to get the IC parts installed, seperately from the other towns of better cities, and when i installed the OCR patch, the Open Cities Resources.esm, was automaticly renamed to Open Cities Resources.esm. Creating a missing master for all the BC parts
I see what is needed, but have to figure out how to accomplish that...
This will give you Anvil, Bruma, Cheydinhal, Chorrol, Leyawiin completely reshaped and redesigned (Leyawiin is extensively redesigned, very unique compared to the other cities), plus Bravil with its walls removed, plus Skingrad with the inner walls removed and the central road raised slightly and flattened out. Buildings from Better Cities will have been added to all cities except Bravil (as I haven't done this city in the BC OCR patch yet).
Ok, i noticed the changes, but because it i installed wrong, things that should have been present were not.
And bravil and leyawin were the first places i visited, and ofcourse IC.
I understand my dissappointment better now.
OCR is exactly what you describe as wanting it to be, you just have to ensure that it is installed correctly, and that only the right files from BC are installed alongside.
Only the right files, right. Do i have to put them manualy into the \Data directory?
Or do i install OCR first, and BC next to it?
How do i only install the IC part?
When installing mods and removing mods during testing, you should not make saves in your game. Use either a test character, or do not save your current character's progress when testing mods until you have settled on the mods you intend to use. Otherwise if you try a mod, save your game, remove that mod, then continue from that save, there may be some issues in your save due to that mod having been briefly present but then removed (such as potentially finding guards with no armour having used a mod which replaces their armour, then removed that mod and so removed the new armour - potentially).
That, i noticed is essential.
Only save when done, that is when installed mods one wants to keep.
Thanks for the effort to try to help me understand how to do things the right way, that is very much appreciated.
Hopefully you keep doing this, as there are many like me: willing but unexperienced.
Determination and perseverence will get us to the aim: Being able to play the game it is meanth to be, not restricted by timeframes and deadlines...
I hereby want to pay my respect for all the work you people do, nessesary to achieve improvements for the best game ever, to me that is.
Regards,
