Post » Sun Jan 23, 2011 12:36 am

Does anyone know where i can download Better Clothes 1.1 from?
It would seem that psychodogstudios.com as been infected by scripting exploits and trojans.

Thank you,

Psychodog Studios is still fine. Those malware screens don't know what in the hell they're talking about.

It wasnt fine earlier today, I'm sure of that. It gave me one of those 'Your computer may be infected!' pop upsthat try to trick you into downloading malware.

It seems to be fine now though.

Perhaps I should rephrase.

Those "your computer may be infected/malware" screens are incredibly bad at properly identifying malware, and nine times out of ten have no sodding clue what in the name of balls they're talking about. They were designed by idiots, for idiots.

In my case it isn't just the Google/Firefox warning screen.
If i try to continue to the site my antivirus aborts the connection and i get a "Malware Detected" warning.

EDIT: In other words i would have to disable my antivirus just so i can connect to the site.
That is why i was asking if there was an alternate download location.

Yw.

I'll probably upload it to my site when I update my mod list sometime next week.

On a different note just in case. I don't recommend the patch. It stops the errors but it causes shoes to clip.

Agreed. The patch is pretty useless, and causes ugly shoes.

It should also be noted that the same "malware" warning appears to be showing up on TES Nexus at the moment, as well.

Something about the [censored] way those things work seems to identify .esp files as malware. I had a similar problem on my mod list awhile back before sending a rather scathing email to the ass clowns at McAffee, Took 'em over a year to fix it, too.

Since I use an adblocker I must ask...do they have advertisemants on these websites? I'm betting that's the culprit. Quantserve ad service is the absolute worst regarding trojans and viruses in ads. There were enormous issues with this on DeviantArt and Dragon Cave a while back.

If you're on Firefox: Get the NoScript and Adblock Plus addons.
If you're on anything else: search for an ad blocker for your particular browser.

READ THE INSTRUCTIONS. I'm not tech support, and if I have to be I'll start charging money. :P Should help, though.

TES Nexus has ads. My site does not. In fact, I read the report from McAffee specifically identifying the Illuminated Windows mod as a virus. To this day, if you attempt to download IW from my site, you'll get only a text file containing my personal feelings towards McAffee and their software.

I actually worked tech support for several years. And you'll find that the more you work tech support, the more you want to find the people who design certain thigns and rip their f'in' throats out.

You have my sympathies. I don't have a tech job but I've heard some doozies from friends that do.

At any rate, I can't say what the problem is, then. All I know is TES Nexus has never given me problems and I've always used an ad blocker + script blocker.

And McAffe just svcks. Always has.

Is anyone ever going to update Better Clothes? Because it doesn't replace all the clothes, just most of them. I would do it myself if I knew how to mod textures and meshes.

Aye, I favor NoScript, as well. Best antivirus protection in the world, if you ask me (besides common sense).

Well, Darknut sort of did. Seems like clothes in this game is the sort of project that's doomed to half-completion from the beginning.

Darknut just made a (very good) retex of clothes. A finished BC would be great, there's not much point having great bodies if the clothes around them still look rubbish.
