Better Dungeons/Ruins

Post » Mon Feb 14, 2011 4:13 am

I think we need much improved dungeons, ones that actually have a purpose. Ones with a story behind them that unfolds as you venture further into it. I also think there should be a cave system with various exits/entrances across the map much like the metro from fallout3.

just my opinions, would make the game more interesting after most quests are done.

I think there were a lot of dungeons in morrowind that had purpose and variety and weren't just the average daedric ruin or bandit hole copy pasted a thousand times. If the caves and such were like that, I would be greatly impressed, since it is bound to be far larger than morrowind. Also, with a greater staff comes a greater variety of how the people like to decorate or set up their dungeons, if they have multiple people working on them.

I think we will see less cut and paste. Fallout 3 shows us that they are moving away from that.

Oblivion dungeons were almost all the same, but they slowly moved away from that and look at New Vegas and Fallout 3 !

This should probably go into the suggestions thread, but I agree fully.

Personally I don't think Fallout 3 showed us that at all. Sure, the towns were all quite different and the main points of interest were mostly unique. But many of the random caves, and buildings were in fact the same or made up of the same building pieces so they looked the same. So there was definitely not a lack of "cut and paste" going on in Fallout 3... and its hard to say that its drastically less then in Oblivion IMO.

With that said, any game that large is going to have recycled buildings and assets most then likely... so its not a huge issue or anything. However, I would like to see a few very unique and different dungeons and caves in Skyrim. Oblivion really only had two different looking themes for most of its caves/dungeons and after a few hours it got depressing not seeing anything different.
