Better Looking Redguards Help

Hm, perhaps I gave the wrong name? Anyway, my version also comes with folders for HGEC and Robert's male that I'm using.

Yeah it would require FCOM patches ... the hazards of such overhauls is the patches ... always patches.

Seems most of my load order is patches.

Seems it would require a EVE HGEC patch rather, even for those who aren't using FCOM etc. Anyway, I'll get on this when I get home. If it's monkey work, i.e. changing paths on a bunch of meshes, it would be on my level of expertise.

I gave up on Better Looking Redguards (could never get it to work even with Eve) and use better Redguards with RBP. I lose the nice face changes to Redgusrds that Better Looking Redguards makes but at least I get better body textures.

I wonder if there is some way just to get the faces from Better Looking Redguards?

I thought that RBP had a version of Better Redguards integrated into one of its optional plugins?

Are you saying it does not work?

Maybe it is a bashed tag issue. Also you are using the Wrye bash tweak for it right?

I'd load the original Better redguards esp and the optional one from RBP as active in TES4edit and see what is in common and what is not. Could be as simple as copy past over from one to the other.

As much as I dig bg2408 he has some weird ideas about faces and could have opted to not have as much face info ported. Like for instance he integrated all of TNR into optional plugins for RBP - except for the beast race faces because he did not like them.

Sorry. What I meant is I do not use Better Looking Redgurda since I could not get it to work. The best part of Better Looking Redguards was the improved faces for Redguards.

I now use the resources from Better Redguards 2.1 (esp deactivated) and use the RBP Better Redgurds option. This way the bodies look correct.

My question was if there was a way to just import the faces from Better Looking Redgurds without having the mod active as I do not believe you can run it with Better Redgurds.

I'll start with trying out Better Redguards 2.1 and HGEC High Rez for Better Redguards and see how it works.

Never tried Better Redguards without RPB but I have used the 2048 and 4096 textures and they look good. Good luck.

Better Redguards works just fine - and it looks really nice as well. I agree that the faces (and hairs) in Better Looking Redguards looked great so I also wonder how to get both, but other than that I'll go for Better Redguards. I think my next char will be one.

If you figure out how to get the faces from Better Looking Redguards please share! :)

Turns out Better Redguards isn't working that fine. Using Better_Redguards_v2_1 with the included Roberts Body textures (and MaleBodyReplacerV4.esp), I get http://www.bluemelon.com/photo/18688/1159556.jpg on males, at least in this instance. Females work fine so far. Anyone who has an idea what's up with the mismatch and if it can be fixed somehow?

The readme says this:

Version 2.0 completely corrects the mismatched head/body problems that NPCs had in version 1.0. Some few NPCs might still be just the slightest bit "off" at the neckline, but it should be an extremely minimal problem - and certainly no worse than Bethesda's defaults were.

But I don't think I've ever seen such a severe mismatch actually.

Ah! I thought the problem was on my end and I wasn't installing properly. I have tried everything, being careful at every step during the reinstallation/uninstallation process (even down to stripping down Oblivion to nothing but vanilla) but I still get the same problem as Arkngt.

I hope this is solvable - I really like how Better Redguards 2.1 improves the Redguards' skin tones...

I tried starting a new game with a male redguard char and it is mismatched just as above, so seems like a general issue with my config and male redguards. A female redguard char (with HGEC textures) looks fine.

I wonder if TNR makes a difference in all these issues.

I wonder if using the TNR integrated with Better Redguards in RBP also makes a difference.

Checking in TES4Edit and it's Cobl Races that overrides Better Redguards. It's my fault as well as I think the BOSS masterlist switches them around. I'll reorder them and check.

EDIT: Turns out BOSS places Cobl Races after Better Redguards so not my fault after all (I'm using a tweaked masterlist which is why I was unsure).

EDIT 2: Yes, loading Better Redguards after Cobl Races fixed it. But now I'm not sure if I actually prefer Better Redguards - the female redguard looked better when Cobl Races overrode Better Redguards IMO. So seems I'm back at square one regarding redguards. Anyway, I'll post about the load ordering in the BOSS thread.
