better looking vampires?

Post » Fri May 13, 2011 6:50 am

sorry but if your expecting vampires to be improved your gonna be disappointed, the vampires of lore that are native to skyrim are not like the ones in oblivion, but resemble the ones from morrowind, and are very reclusive and cannot dwell in society, they are very fierce and deadly, but if beth makes them like the ones from oblivion, it will break the lore, read ''immortal blood'' from oblivion, and it will explain that they are a different type altogether.

EDIT: these vampires live under ice and lakes and reach up to grab you and somehow im assuming there masters of alteration cause they dont break the ice, and are never seen roaming about, usually they hybernate i assume they dont care much for bothering with society, but dont come near there lair

In Oblivion. I thought it was game breaking that when I bite some one else, they dont die or become vampires them selves. And I fed on the mages guild en mass, even though their sole goal was to root out the undead and necromancers.

dont know? but raminus polus gives you the quest to cure yourself, guess he didnt want any conflict, and looking at count hassildor of skingrad, he is a feared vampire-sorcerer and can control himself from going on a blood spree, so guess its all politics

EDIT: i think if they add the option to become a vampire (according to lore) it will be like being one from morrowind, and thats cool but im hoping they add a lich, that way it would be cooler and i could conceal myself so i could interact with townsfolk and complete quests, im sure they will add the werewolf feature, but that wouldnt suit my character type so hooping for lich

And what's wrong with that, sound's great if they manage to pull it of.

yeah im all about the evil ghoul or whatever, i wouldnt mind being a crazy vampire sorcerer, but im more to traditional undead like the lich, thats what i hope they add cause it suits my character type more, which is a necromancer

i imagine skyrims vampires to look like people that are old and drowned. think about bootstrap bill from pirates of the Caribbean- just without the fish and corral stuck to him

they live inside frozen lakes (they have the ability to travel through ice)

A change in appearance would be cook, say a charming spell that makes your dispostion high and your character look sauvae, then a spell for combat that would buff you up but make you evil looking and make people run from you in fear, lol.

the succubus is a female demon that entices mortal men then steals there souls, not a vampire, i know my lore

EDIT: there mesmerizing beauty, is just an illusion, they are demonic and evil and can make themselves look like the perfect woman in the eyes of the victim

EDIT: although there is one supposed actual vampire creature in legend, thats the ''Chupacabra'' which is a hairless dog in appearance that has long fangs, that they believe are used to svck blood from smaller animals, since some were found in farmers fields with two puncture marks on the neck and drained of blood and someone captured one and its a weird looking animal, but it solved the great vampire mystery, i think this was somewhere in the states like florida or somewhere

Vampires have always been sixy??

http://www.therationalradical.com/images03/nosferatu.jpg. the first Vampire Movie... I must say he looks very sixy :P

The sixy part of Vampires was probably introduced in Twilight or something^^

The first sixy vampire off course was Dracula from 1897. Yes, you read it right: 1897.
Bram Stoker portrayed the vampire as a seductive figure who knew how to "please" women, in response to the suppressed sixuality of women in Victorian culture.

Edit: So, the whole Vampire thing was basically one big metaphor for female sixuality. Women desired it, men were afraid of it and try to make it go away by poking it with a wooden stake.

In Morrowind, when you became a vampire, nobody would speak with you anymore. It was unplayable. As far as they didn't repeat this I'll see no problem at all.

I hate the twillight movies from the bottom of my heart! ok good to get that out, I think vampire's should be more brutal, they also will be more good looking. Haven't you seen what bethesda has done with npc faces this time around? then you know they will look better ;)

I don't know why people are slamming the OP for the 'sixy' comment.
"Vampires aren't sixy, you thinking of twilight derp derp derp"

I'm pretty sure Vampires have always been seductive though right? maybe sixy was a poor choice of words, but Vampires have commonly been able to seduce humans with ease; if i'm not mistaken there was even a spell in Oblivion called Vampires Seduction? To me it doesn't make sense to be seduced by someone who looks about a hundred years old...

I'm pretty sure the sedutive part comes due to the sixual nature of how, the vampires we often think about, drink blood. It's quite the intimite action and therefore the power to give your victim a false image of your appearence is quite useful.

Probably, just to me not that interesting. If I had the kinds of powers Hollywood vampires had I'd enjoy scaring the crap out of my victims, not lulling them. Heh. But I'm sick like that. :P I don't even think I have an issue with seductive vampires, just bored to death by them because every vampire movie that is made--not all, but most--portrays vampires that way. It's like a song that gets played too often on the radio. You just get sick of it.

Vampires have always been sixy? With the media this age, it is no wonder you have this perception.

hehe. Yeah one of the things I loved about Vamp the Masquerad:Bloodlines was playing the Nosferatu clan!

I loved having this hideous, unhuman looking vampire that had to hide in the shadows as he was plainly far from human.

The thing I HATED with those vampires was that they destroyed my carefully created skin... I spend atleast 10 minuts on the skin...
and the fact that you look like a furless 99 year old abe...

It would be nice if there were more to vampires, and if we are going to compare them to movies for Skyrim I really hope they are more like the Vampires from Underworld. The Vampires in underworld fit in with Elder Scrolls more then any of the others; Vampires in heavy armor wielding swords and crossbows. At least visually it fits more than the others.

As long as they add a completable (unlike Oblivions) vampire cure quest I won't mind... in Morrowind you could just cure yourself once you got bored...

EDIT: If they use the vampires from Twilight I'll hang myself...

They should definitely not use the vampires from Twilight. :nono: What they should actually do is just make them plain different than their previous vampires. ^_^

I really wanted to like vampires in Oblivion, but.. I just couldn't. Vampirism in Oblivion felt like one big weakness. Vampires are normally evil creatures (Who DO NOT sparkle!) who roams the night, and tells all the brave adventurers that the night is the vampire's realm, and svck them dry of blood. They should be stronger than humans and faster too.
Oblivion's vampires just felt and looked like old weaklings..

I hate all the seductive crap in vampires. That is the sole reason I don't watch vampire movies--well, except Blade, because Snipes is badass. There are various vampires in from folklore all over the world. Many I've read about aren't pretty, seductive and charming, but everything from near zombie like to demon like. I watched something years ago that had said in Romania, people that died of tuberculoses would come back as a vampire and seek out their family, draining them of blood. There was also a story I think from Africa (couldn't tell you what country) that portrayed vampires as demons with wings and long tongues that would land on the roof of a thatched hut at night, it's tongue like a tentacled proboscis, snaking down through the roof to drain the blood of its sleeping victim. I'm glad TES hasn't gone the Anne Rice road.

We should wright on our customs : "Beware traveler, vampires rule the land!" :obliviongate:

Joke aside, Anne Rice's vampires were seductive creatures, but also brutal, ugly, mad "little" things. I'm on the forth book in "The Vampire Chronicles" and I must say, it is not all that shiny and sixy. Still, combine this with "Vampires Bloodlines: Masquarade" and the end result can be quite beautiful.

no they will not! if they do this it will break the lore

EDIT: WHY IS EVERYONE EXPECTING VAMPIRES OF SKYRIM TO BE LIKE OBLIVIONS EXCEPT NOW THAT THEYVE REDONE THE FACES THEY SHOULD LOOK BETTER? NOOOO THEY ARE NOT AT ALL LIKE THEM READ ''IMMORTAL BLOOD'' THEY ARE LIKE MORROWINDS VAMPIRES, HIDEOUS, UNCONCEALABLE, YOU CAN SPOT THEM A MILE AWAY, AND THESE VAMPS DO NOT GET BORED AND WANT TO SNEAK INTO TOWN THEY ARE RECLUSIVE AND TEND TO STAY IN THERE FROZEN LAKES, IF ANYONE MENTIONS TWILIGHT AGAIN I WILL DAMN YOUR SOUL! CIRODIIL IS THE ONLY PROVINCE WITH THAT KIND OF VAMPIRE THAT CAN BLEND IN TO SOCIETY IF BETH MAKES SKYRIM VAMPS LIKE OBLIVIONS IT WILL BE LORE BREAKING, EVERYONES IMAGE OF VAMPIRES IN THIS DAY AND AGE IS AN ILLUSION AND MADE UP AND EVERYONES COPYING EACHOTHERS FILM IDEAS, IF YOU COULD GO BACK IN TIME A FEW HUNDRED YEARS AND ASKED EVERY SINGLE PERSON ON THE PLANET WHAT A VAMPIRE IS THEY WOULD ALL ANSWER THAT THEY ARE HELLISH DEMONS THAT SLAUGHTER AND DRINK THE BLOOD OF THE LIVING, THERE IS NO BEAUTIFUL FOREVER AND BLAH BLAH BLAH YOUR VIEWS OF THE MODERN VAMPIRE IS TAINTED

The problem with vampires in Oblivion was that they where supposed to be able to pass for a human when fully fed, I don't mind the visual effects when not feeding for a long while, seams only fitting, but in reality they simply destroyed the character face altogether, while by my deep believe the 100% vampire should have looked exactly like the character I created. So no more random face mutilations please.

lich freak - Morrowind vampires where uncontrollable, true, but hideous? No one sad that :) And Skyrim vampires are not necessary hideous - scary, yes, strange and otherworldly looking, yes, weird eyes, icy skin and so on, but no one sad they can't look good it their own scary way :)

P.S. Not a Twilight fan btw, never even watched that teenage drama, but I love World of Darkness and Masquerade :) And there scary and unnatural not always equals agly, I'm a big Tzimisce fan :D

Vampires have always been sixy, but when they're not they're crazy monsters.

Really? Since when? Twilight? TES doesn't follow modern day pop culture anyway.
